Flush the rez, and rinse it out ok, lol, then fill it bac up with plain water, pH'd adjusted, and let her chill for a 2 day or so, then, when you start bac up, add the nutes at 1/4 strength, dont follow those charts, their just a basic guide line to follow, people usually make their own schedule, then every week just slowly bring it up higher and higher, and then you can look at those charts and adjust it a lil bit into what your doing, stains are always different, some can take a shit load, and some not that much, you will kno whats good after a couple weeks, you'll get the feel to it, its all about experimenting, but starting it slow at fist
Ok Ill flush again today then. and on tuesday Ill add a little bit of FF grow big & big bloom. I guess this is the confusing part...trying to find the rhythm of my plants. worrying about nute burn, root rot, heat stress and PH balance isnt too hard but not really easy either.

ok so I flushed the res yet again yesterday morning. Gave them PH balanced fresh water (no nutrients) for the last 24 hrs. the first 5 pics are from yesterday morning when I did the res change. Do my roots look healthy??? (im bout to research root rot after posting this).

I Just got back from work to find two very sad plants (last three pics). Should I give them another 24 hrs or give them the nutrients today?

well what I did was flush the res again and decided to go back to the AG small nute tab. I think that the sudden change in nutrients may have shocked the plants too much hence the burn. I will post a full update later today with pictures.

It looks like the top of the plants are coming around...but the lower leaves look almost done (starting to get crispy at the edges)

I have been vegging for a month now. this is going very slowly due to this PH/nute issue. Also it may have been the beginning of root rot as my roots were slightly tanned. so i turned off the AG water pump (left the airstone bubbling).

Also I realized that the AG is not light proof at all. reading the AG threads it just says to cover up the extra grow holes. but if you look in the res you can see the light leaking around the edges of the top/cover into the res. So.... am I supposed to duct tape all around the res once or twice a week when flushing the res????

There is an argument about whether to leave the water pump on or to turn it off when the roots reach the res. Anyone want to chime in on that??

Growing with the AG seems really easy (the reason i got it) but its showing a higher difficulty level than I expected. (maybe just my experience with my batch of seeds..idk)

well anyway I will post the pics later for yall to see.

Here are pix from this afternoon

top set of leaves are looking much better and I can smell that sweet aroma now:weed:

But the bottom leaves are really dieing. does anyone know what I should do? should I clip the lower leaves??? or just let them die on their own. the bottom set of leaves are steadily getting worse.

Clip the dieing leaves, your getting good new growth so they should be fine after you chop them, jus keep your eye on everything and they will be fine

I clipped the bottom leaves and changed the AG setting to Tomatoes (water pump on 20hrs/ off 4hr)

the front plant might just be having PH/nute problems since it sits right on top of the airstone. thats the only excuse I can give it for being so much more sensitive than the other plant. I am just going to stick with the AG nutrients for the rest of the grow since it seems like my white rhino fems prefer them over the Fox Farm. Ill just try the Fox Farm next grow.

I just turned on the 2 side CFLs just now. I pulled them far from the plants so if they start curling again I dont think its heat. I just want them to get as much light as they can. plus i spent all that $$$ on CFLs dammit im gonna use them. lol I got veg lights but the plants curl under everytime i turn them on. I got 2 fans going from different sides keeping it cool and moving the plants a little bit to strengthen the stems.

enjoy the root porn:weed::clap:

Looks good man, they should do fine, maybe try and incorporate the Fox Farm in there with the AG nutes, like use a lil of the Vegg, and a lil of the Bloom when the time comes, but as long as the pH stays under control they will look better

Sicc!! I'm back homey, so nice to see you still on here, im still growing with my AG myself. - Ninjuh quick observation / suggestion. When using the AG Small nute tab i usually crush it up and dissolve it into my first res water before putting it in.. that way i make sure its evenly distributed in the water. i've found that using an airstone, and dropping the tab in underneath a plant or using the front door can sometimes cause the front plant to bug out.. (nute issues) - so if your still dropping tabs right on in the AG with your current water set up etc. id suggest crushing it up on your next res change to see if that helps :)

Plants look great so far man.

yo blackaricanboy.....thanks for stopiping thru. Yea thats exactly what ive been doing dropping the tab into a gallon of filtered water and letting it dissolve b4 putting it into the res. I did read somewhere on this site that the PH level around the airstones may be different than the rest of the res though so maybe that may be why the plant up front keeps getting brown tips. I am not gonna baby that plant though and make the bigger one starve. lil sister better buck up lol

Just Changed the res. the girls are looking good:weed:. it seems like they are big enough to take the extra light now and they are drinking a bit more also.

I have been giving them 1 full small tablet of AG nutes premixed in a gallon of filtered water. Today I added .5 teaspoon of Fox Farm Grow big to that mix and made sure that the PH was between 5.0-6.0. Lets see how they react to the extra nutrients. I am going to keep a close eye on them over the next 24-48hrs to make sure they dont freak out again:shock:.

I think that I was developing root rot before cause the roots are more white now...they were turning tan-ish brown last week. so things are looking good so far:peace:

Hey are the leaves laying down just to get the light from the CFLs? cause b4 I turned them on the leaves were stretching straight out and slightly up. (does that mean they were stretching for the light)

Now (as u can see) they are more....relaxed with their leaves drooping slightly. the temps stay between 67 F(over night low) and 77 F (hottest over the last 2 weeks) so I dont think its heat stress (correct me if im wrong)

either way.....im just glad they're not dieing anymore

Just try and move the CFL's bac a lil more, might be too close, with all the light, they do look better
