hey peeps.
im just thinking about building my own LED
i was thinking about running

4x BXRC-35E10K0-L-2x - (vero29 3500K 80cri 38volt )
with this driver
http://www.mouser.de/ProductDetail/Mean-Well/HLG-320H-C2100B/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvV8Y9YugmIgoiQo72DSvhvnkM%2b9Br076iqXRwltqFxUA==
at 2,1A.

if i did the maths right this should work out ? 38volts x 4 = 152 volts x 2,1A = approx. 320 watts

thing is i have no idea how to cool them. can someone recommend some heatsinks or will i need also some pc-fans or stuff.
any advice very appreciated.

im thinking about running all 4 on 60x60x200cm with a 220cbm exhauster (could always dimm it down if i ran into heat problems or order a bigger exhauster . since this is just 1 half of the wardrobe i could expand it to 120x60x200 and basically run 2 separate 60x60x200m closets with each 2x vero29s (both closets are just separated with by a thin wall so i could drill a hole for exhausting both with the same exhausting fan - so mabe heat would also be easier to control and i got more space)

cheers

your at like 80w a peice so these will cool them without pc fans. But it is always a good idea to have good circulation in the grow room which will cool them also. I have a ceiling fan blasting mine.

thanks for your advice licoricetree.
that woulda make around 100bucks more for heatsinks. arent there cheaper ones around which could also work (very low on moniez lol). was thinking about spending just like max 50 on heatsinks.

Arctic Alpine 11 is a tiny heatsink rated at 100w, but it's a pc fan and you need another 12v driver with 1A to drive them all together. And maybe you need a dimmer to reduce fan speed.
If you want a silent system I would go with the passive heatsink. They will pay for themself and are every penny worth for security aspects, when a fan fails and heatsink threatens to overheat for example.

Pretty much the only one on market outside of megtronix but they are whitthen same price range. im in the same boat as you man i need to buy almost 40+ heat sinks. Held up by funds also.

so today i was looking for some suppliers for the new v7 vero29 and i just could find this offer from china.
https://kingbriteled.en.alibaba.com/product/60565271423-801593357/Bridgelux_Vero_29_3500k_BXRC_35E10K0_D_7X.html
it says 1-2 dollars per piece hehe. there must be something wrong with that price - is this one mabe for buying bulkwise - even then i cant trust my eyes ?
now even if 1 chip would cost me like 20-30€ shipping to EU shouldnt cost that much right , since these chips are tiny and almost weigh nothing.
tbh honest i have never ordered something from china and i have no clue about taxes , shipping cost etc.
the price mentioned seems too good to be true
does somebody have an idea how much it would me cost ordering 4 of these chips to EU incl shipping etc... ?

Bridgelux would go broke selling them at that price. You will see that a lot on alibaba Really low prices that are not correct. You will have to message them to get a real price I would imagine it will be closer to 20 dollars if not over it. Cheapest I have seen a gen 7 vero 29 is 23 dollars a piece.

curious how hard the chinese will beat that

so i was thinking about downscaling a bit and going with a meanwell 240 1.4A instead.
them vero29 gen7 38volt chips are listed at 2100A in the datasheet. can i run them at 1,4A without problems or is this not recommended
