368watt CFL Grow Northern Lights, and Fruity Chronic Juice+Upgraded Cab

Hello RIU Ive been a long time lurker, short time member, and a first time poster, but I've been smoking since been smoking since been smoking... Anyways Im here to share my experience with this community since out of the few forums Ive lurked this one seems to be the best for what I need and want. I started growing becuase im tired of paying ridiculious prices for something I love (sometimes up to 450.00 a oz), and took it upon myself to provide for myself, I currently have one grow under my belt, which I used 4 random bagseed, 2 turned male, 1 hermied, and 1 female which went through hell and high water due to lack of/wrong info I was getting from other places, but I got a oz from it and it was pretty damn good, and I have learned a lot so I think im ready for my second so here I am in a dedicated CFL Forum.

1.These where the start supplies I used.

2.This was the main space I had to work with 30"x20"x48"

3.These are some pics showing my initial setup with the lights mounted to the top, 1 passive intake which later turn out to not be enough, also I used stocking to cover the intake, and a what turned out to be a crappy exhuast fan.

4.This pic is showing how I thought using the adjustable shelf would be the fine, it turned out to be more work than it was worth adjusting it every other day.

5.This is showing the light leaks which where annoying.

And Drum roll please....... my new setup.

1.This is showing you the new lights i'm using 10x30watt 2700k's, 10x26watt 6500k's, 2x30watt 5000k's, 68watt 2700k(that bulb in my hand is right next to the bulbs hanging up that thing is huge this light is for under growth during flowering).

2.In these pics they are showing my hand made hood, and also that I changed the lights from mounted to hanging "Thats Smart".

3.This pic is showing where I replaced the crappy fan with a twin window fan w/multiple speed settings which allows me to control temp inside my cab to a good degree, on my lowest setting it keeps my cab steady at 80 degrees.

4.This is showing the second intakes I added with a rigged cover I added for when I need it once the plant gets tall enough.

5.This is showing I have completly eliminated the light leaks with better sealing.

Specs:
Soil-Happy Frog, and Perlite
Pot-Final 3 Gallon
Grow Style-LST, and maybe scrog
Veg Time-6 to 8 weeks
Nutes-Flora Nova Grow/Bloom
Extras-Molassis, and Epson Salt
Preventatives-Sand
Light Cycle-18/6, and 12/12
Strains-Pyramid seeds Northern Lights, and Delicious Seeds Fruity Chronic Juice


I have had 100% success with planting seed in soil, so I put the seeds in this morning, current temps 80 degrees. Each pot is currently under 82watts(2x26watt 6500k, and 30watt 5000k) for now...


Also I wanted to metion what I call my light plan- Once the plant get past the seedling stage I add 8x26watt 6500k, and 2x30watt 5000k bulbs totaling 268watts, from there once every week I remove 1 6500k bulb, and replace it with a 30watt 2700k bulb to mimic the yearly light change gradually to the plants, until 8 weeks and 8 bulbs later I have 300watts(8x30watt 2700k, and 2x30watt 5000k) on the plants, thats when I flip from 18/6, to 12/12, and once the flowers start to form I add the BIG 68watter under the canopy for the under growth which then is when it will be 368watts for the plants.

Well I came home and after 1 full day they both have sprouted, Im going to update once a week, with a day by day pictorial of growth and any changes.

Hello RIU im back with the week 1 update, on day seven I added more light they each now have 108watt(3x26watt 6500k/30watt 5000k) on them, not much to say right now but here it is, how does it look.

I can assure you that they are enough, and with the venting I have the lights are within 2", and you really didn't take the time to read, or even look around did you.

Looking nice. Seedlings are a good sice for 1 week, wow.

i like your homemade hood but i have a suggestion for next time, or if your up to it now it will be worth it. Turn the cfls to lay horizontal your only getting about 1/4 of the lumen output with them at a mostly vertical position.
