(DOOGEY420) first i would like to say your one of the top ones in this thread you started when i started. and you started this thread with me thanks. dont stop posting pics of those beautiful girls.! would love to see them grow..look at her she is growing up so fast already maturing. shes looking nice bro! keep it up! As for nutes. i have the FF trio. grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom. ive never done a auto flower strain so idk but here is my guess. if your flowering already my meaning(12/12) i would stop the grow from what i know thats only for veg. and pump up the bloom. id say 1tsp more every other watering and see how your plants are liking it. read about the nutes and what the max strength you can give them but also listen to your girls and let them tell you how much they want.
yea so im sticking with the 18/6 too!!. good luck doogey420 i wanna see thos girls develop already!

(TRENDKILL) wow man seems like your babies went through hell in such and early stage. but glad to see they are ok now. as of giving you any tips. i have no idea never grown that strain before. all i can say is goodluck and from what i know and you said. everything your doing seems ok to me. happy growing man and keep us updated welcome to the thread!

(HIDDENFIRE) IF YOUR ON A BUDGET ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS STICK WITH CFLS. YOU CAN GET THEM AT ANY HARDWARE STORE GET THOS 46W CFLS 150W/REPLACEMENT GET ABOUT 4-5 OF THOSE TO START OFF WITH AND SAVE UP SOME MONEY FOR THE BALLAST AND STUFF OTHER THEN THAT. YOU WONT FIND A BALLAST WITH BULB FOR UNDER 180$ UNLESS CRAIGSLIST BUT RISKY!
YOU WILL BE SURPRISED WITH CFLS CAN DO THOUGH. GOOD LUCK!

THIER GUYS HOPEFULLY I GOT TOO ANSWER OR ATLEAST HELP ALL OF YOU GUYS IF I MISSED YOU FUCK IT SMOKE ONE LOL! AND MAYBE AN IDEA WILL POP UP.! I WILL PROBABLY DO AN UPDATE TOMMOROW OF MY BABIES! LATER!

I got a digital dimmable ballast with three year warranty, hps and mh bulbs with 1 year warranties, ratchet ropes to suspend my lights, a timer, and 6'in cooltube with reflectors for $153.95 and free shipping...from Apollo on ebay. It's even cheaper if you want the basic reflector, $120 I believe. Things run cooler in my tent than they did with CFLs in a closet! The closet would reach past 90 sometimes (200w CFL w/ two 40w CFLs, 240 cfm inline fan for ventilation), my tent never goes past 84, usually is 79-81.

People say not to go with a cheap system...but if you're on a budget and it's covered by warranty, why not? You can always upgrade the bulbs later for between 10-20 bucks easily (the stock bulbs are still much better than CFLs). If you're just starting out and want to try HID, think it's def a bargain. Am loving the system so far.

Out of almost 5,000 transactions, the seller has a 99.6% positive feedback rating...not bad at all :)

Sorry if I seem like I'm advertising lol. I just want to let people know that HID is a lot more possible than you think!

It is now day 25 of veg. and day 1 of bloom. These first nine pics. are of my lemmon kush and critical kush. Two of the girls one lemmon and the critical kush are a week behind. The critical is marked but the lemmon is the one with real long stems. And the other five photos are of my N.L. Auto. As Ever, DOOGEY420DSCN1144.jpgDSCN1147.jpgDSCN1154.jpgDSCN1160.jpgDSCN1162.jpgDSCN1164.jpgDSCN1165.jpgDSCN1166.jpgDSCN1148.jpgDSCN1149.jpgDSCN1150.jpgDSCN1151.jpgDSCN1152.jpgDSCN1145.jpgDSCN1146.jpgThe one ladies leaves are as big as my hand! Skip the first nine its not in that order pics 3-8 are of northern light. When they loaded it was out of order.

How far should the light be from top of my canopy?? its currently 34" from tallest one, no burning on leaves, and doesn't feel hot when i put my hand above the top. temps are 81 but the girls got great air flow breeze. advice would be great.

Would help to know what kind of lamp, wattage, and reflector (if any)...can't just go off that information!

thanks for the response. 400mh it just has a reflector, i have a 6" fan openly blowing on it and on the other side a 20" 2500 cfm exhausting the hot air being blown towards it. i just bought another one today for intake and I'm at 79f, pretty happy didn't expect it to work so good went from 101f the first day now to 79f with additions and tweaks i made.

Hey Lady, I was looking at that same setup. How loud is the ballast, if at all and what is your impression as far as reflectors go? How much cooler do you think the cool tube is vs the normal reflector? Thanks.

The ballast is absolutely silent. I couldn't hear it even when I put my ear to it. My inline fan is much louder...but it was only 29 bucks so to be expected. I ran the light without the cool tube hooked up to the fan and things stayed around 84-88. With it hooked up the temps are 79-81 (sometimes it goes up to 84 on the 100 degree days). I live in the South w/ ghetto AC in my house, so not too shabby. The thing that I like most about the cooltube is that you can have it so much closer to your plants. I have mine at 10 inches...to seedlings! No signs of burning, and when I put my hand under, is just slightly warm. For every 12 inches of space from the light, you lose considerable lumens. I didn't buy a 400w to have it act like 200! lol. Now, an issue that people claim about cooltubes is hot spots....but I haven't read any threads with cooltubes where people complained about this or had issues. I even saw someone say that they measured different areas under the lamp with a light meter and found no hot spots. Cooltubes are limited in how they disperse light since a cooltube is concentrated to a small area compared to hoods...but you can always upgrade to a hood reflector that fits over the cooltube and distributes light to a wider area once you get more funds. The Apollo comes with little reflector wings that you can add to help until then ;).

Thanks for the thorough reply Lady J.

I actually had my eye on the ballast and bulbs from the same seller on eBay. I wanted the CT27 cooltube with it but he was out of stock so I was waiting. But your link has everything including the CT27 cool tube, and extra bulb, the timer (that i dont need) and hangar (again, i dont need) for less money. So that is obviously the deal to buy.

I have a blackstar led panel right now that I am looking to replace. I know it sounds like a step backwards but this blackstar panel is HOT. Like real HOT. I have 4 temp probes in my tent and the probes closest to the blackstar have high temp readings. I think it is because of how poorly the unit is cooled and the hot air is being forced out the vents. So as stupid as it sounds I feel as if the 400hps would run cooler with the cooltube as opposed to the led, or at least run just as warm/hot but provide better light. In theory i could also dim it down to 250 if running at 100% was still too hot and it would still outproduce the led panel, I think.

I guess I'll see.

Wow...I'm surprised to hear that about the LED panel. What wattage is it?

I'm glad that I could show you a good deal...did hours of comparisons and couldn't find anything better than that!

Let me know how everything works out...feel free to send me a PM or post onto my thread in my sig (lot of people regularly post their updates there).

Thanks Lady J, Your knowledge is very helpful.

The panekl Im using is only pulling 130watts. It is a blackstar 240. I have read some threads recently regarding an issue where some of the leds start to melt. i do not know why but it has to be a heat issue of some sort. my panel is not showing signs of having this defect but that just might be because it hasnt manifested intself in a way i can see yet. All I can tell you is the panel has 3 fans blowing right down on the heatsink/leds and the hot air is forced out the front/back grills. The air coming out is very hot. Way hotter than I would expect from a led panel. my room temps are 79-82 degrees F at any point during the day but INSIDE my tent they can get as high as 88-91 degrees F. (Lower on the other side of the tent away from the panel. The highest readings I get might be because it is being vented right on my probe but I still get high readings below it off another probe that isn't being exhausted on. This is why I think it may be malfunctioning and a 400hps might eb the way to go. At least with the 400hps I'll be sucking air through the cool tube, over the bulb. It just seems like it will be cooler.

Cool tubes work out well for small area. You'll get them monster tops if you get the 400 down close. I keep my tops under 3 inches away or closer.I use a 435cfm fan though

pics would help. but it sounds to me like you should start flower now or you will be really crowded. your plants will double in size at least when you go 12/12
