There's so many strains. I won't be able to stop myself from ordering. They're all so beautiful. How's your ladies doing?
Doing well. Not much to report, sweet dwarf which is going to get chopped on my bday has a plump 5 inch girth on her cola and stands about 4 and a half inches high. She got her last nute feeding today and will be flushed with the "make it rain" method with just straight water for the next week. I'm gonna give it a quick dry in the oven. I can't wait any longer than my bday to smoke some of this stuff.

As for checking the trichs, yes I ordered it. Should be arriving tomrrow. Just a 60-100x microscope off ebay for 15 bucks. should do the trick.

Sounds good. And happy b-day by the way. I'll be 22 tomorrow myself.

Don't really like the idea of oven dried bud, but I understand the urgency.

Well the 60x-100x microscope came yesterday and its very finicky to use. Didn't have too much time to play around with it. I'll get a handle on it by saturday though. Live for the weekends at this point.

A lot of people use them, but yea I've heard they were a little difficult at first. All I have is a 30x loupe. Not as good but it only cost me 3 bucks.

yeah, I got a 30x loupe but was told I wouldn't be able to see the trics under it and needed the 60-100. Your able to see when the trics turn under the 30? Also I read that you take a "sample" and to put it on a white plate and it makes using the scope easier. I gotta read some more and find out about the "sample" I'm not sure where they are taking it from i.e directly off bud site or possibly a leaf that has "sugar" on it. you have any knowledge on that?

Yea, I think they are referring to actual bud when it comes to the sampling. You can see them with the 30x but not very well. I may consider using one of the 15$ ones like you have.

Okay, well I cut down the sweet dwarf today. Wanted to give her a couple days to dry out in a paper bag before she goes up in smoke on my bday.

After trimming wet weight came out to just over 32g. I've read about 65% loss during drying, so probably about 10ish grams. I can't complain, I think the yield the seed company was claiming was 14-25g or something like that. I'm pleased, the nutes were introduced late. The trics were about 80/20 cloudy/amber. I would have liked to give it another week, but oh well.

The Blue H hasn't broke dirt but I got another sweet dwarf that did break the dirt today. I'm excited to compare the yield from the seedling to the one I just cut down today. The seedling will be getting nutes its whole life so I hope for bigger results.

Just did some reading on water curing. Fits my needs for smoking it on Tuesday so in the water she went. I'll be changing the water every 24 hours. Also gonna pick up a food dehydrator by then. Nesco American Harvest Model # FD-35 seems to be the brand to go with. approx 2-5 hours depending on size of buds was the review I read. I'll post the results of this for ya'll Tuesday.

nice journal, interested in this water curing;)
Thanks buddy. More to be reviled on tuesday about the water curing. Changed up the water this morning, had a slight odor. I think its more of the chlorophyll that is being leached out right now since my nutes were organic so I think the 3 day water cure will work out. I'd post a link to the info I read but regrettably I had better luck researching the water cure on a non-RIU fourm =/.

don't lst top or super crop auto's ;)
Yeah I was iffy on that with the autos to begin with, I was thinking if anything LST with the Hobbes Circle of Bud method? You seen it? He wrapps the plant around the rim of a 5 gal bucket. Gets like 48 inches of main cola bud. That was the only thing that caught my eye that might be effective with the autos I thought.

So I just checked out that link with the humeric acid (Black Diamond from General Organics) Sometimes posted (for some reason its not showing on the thread just through my email) and it seems like the problem that guy had was that he was in a hydro system. I'm in soil and have noticed absolutely no issues. I started using the nutes because the AK began to show a deficiency, all the autos I have going love the full and even the heavy feeding. I'm riding the learning curve right now and while I don't see any harmful effects from nutes still scare the shit out of me. hah.

Edit: just re-read Sometimes post- yeah I agree with only using it once every 10x, I decided not to switch back and forth with the two jug watering method. I've been leaving the black diamond out completely actually. I may add a small amount today when I water. Probably only do it at 1/2 strength...as I said nutes scare me.
