You need to find a way to get the temperatures up. Cold alone will inhibit the uptake of certain nutrients in plants. At temperatures below 50 degrees F. phosphorus uptake is extremely limited. Your plants will not be able to take in all of what they need because of low temperatures alone and they will have problems. Find a way to get the temps up to at least the upper 60's, though mid to upper 70's would be optimal.
thats the temp of my entire house and everything. the basket and the plants are never anywhere near those temps.... thanks though. I should've cleared that up. I wouldn't let them get cold.. lol

And about the Foliar feeding.... some of you are getting way tooo technical and not thinking logically.... Sometimes it rains outside..... I'm just going to leave it at that. and ever since I've been misting these beauties they've just been getting more and more beautiful....

its NOT about money its a hobby like collecting coins
for me growing is therapeutic you know if i had a hard day
i love to come home and tend to my plants like a lot of other people out
there it makes me happy
and it not plant em and forget em

<3 that's how I feel.... I don't think I go longer than twenty minutes without thinking about them and making sure they are getting the best.

That's not what my four family members with degrees in botany say, but then I guess N.C. State University could have taught them all incorrectly.
his family is mother nature. listen to him.

how do I quote 40 people at once so I don't have to post 40 times.

The plants are on 16/8 and running on the same schedule as I. it's much easier and it helps me pop out of bed like there is a fire when I 1st open my eyes instead of oversleeping and laying there. good stuff.

hey bro so im sorry i didnt read your whole thread but i read the first page or two then jumped to the last couple.. im not going to comment on anything anyone else has posted or anything all im going to do is give my $0.02 and hope it helps you even if repeated. Here goes.. lol. (PS. transplant those ladies if you havent already into seperate pots, they need all the root growth/space they can get)

VEG GROWTH

-Lights need to be 18hours on/ 6 hours off. I wouldnt go any less, plants need they're light! (some people veg. with 24hours on, but i prefer 18/6)
-Lights need to be 6000k spectrum or higher
-Temperature should be 75 when lights are off and 85 max when lights are on, 90 or higher plants will stop growing (at all times, not just veg. stage)
-High NITROGEN nutrients
-Lots of fresh air and airflow
-High humidity
-JUST LET THEM GROW, LEAVE THEM BE.

**if your going to be feeding them with nutrients i wouldnt be using any kind of soil that already has nutrients in it because you will end up overfeeding your plant and killing it, i would find a soiless mix like "pro-mix HP".. also Miracle Grow soils have bin known to have bugs in them becuz the bugs latch on to the food in the soil and lay eggs (its happend to me before when i first started)

FLOWERING GROWTH

-Low humidity, around 30% max
-Low NITROGEN nutrients if any at all
-Light cycle needs to be 12hours on/ 12 hours off
-When lights are off it must be pitch black!
-Light spectrum must be 3500k or lower

blah blah blah, lots of other shit to know too but theres a few things to keep in mind man, goodluck i have faith in an OZ but you def. need to get them into individual pots. and get some proper lighting.

of course this is my bad for not searching thru the pages but where are the pictures man!!!

Definitely need to get them in individual pots? plenty of successful grows with multiple to a pot. they are spaced pretty well so I don't think that it's a definite must. I will when I can though. I'd say the most important is the light... and for everything else. your light schedule is quite demanding. people have grown with 12/12 and 24 till veg and other hours with some supreme buds... so I don't believe in that.

I'm doing nothing more than mimicking nature besides the light quality. the lights are doing pretty sexy right now but we just got done with another blizzard last night and the past couple days.. going to get those Daylight cfls on the double.

i dont know how big the one pot is you are growing in so i just jumped to a "NO" lol.. but ya it can def. work fine, depends on how big you want to veg. them before flower becuz come flowering time they will get sometimes 3 times the size as they are first day of flower, then what will you do when its EXTREMELY crowded, just saying 8 sounds like a hell of a lot for one pot, i would flower after vegging for a month, even less, again dono the size of the pot they are in, but depending on how long you have already vegged them for i wouldnt suggest transplanting them, you will end up killing perfectly developed roots that will be all intertwined with one another from each plant..

AND no totally agree with the lighting man, i just believe that come final product, it would be that much more developed. Its your first grow like you said, experiment away! i sure did, i grew 42 plants my first grow, got WAY too out of hand lol.. check out my link in my signature, read thru it if you want, i learnt ALOT, oh and there are tons of pics on the first page aswell. happy growin dude, good luck with the ounce.

PS. Pictures Pictures Pictures... if u already posted some what page are they on?

hey tafbang, WHERE ARE THE PICTURES??? you must be too ashamed of what your grow looks like to post them. from what i've read (pages 1-15 and this page), you have no ability when it comes to growing. to you, logically, plants should go in picnic baskets, as if they're a couple apples, iced tea and sandwiches. also, your ever-expanding mind decides that Bricktop, a seasoned grower who is like an encyclopedia on other threads, isn't worth listening to. well with your attitude and incompetence, you are gonna need a lot of luck. without it, you're gonna be faced with 8 dead or dying plants. since you probably don't know, weed comes as either male or female, and there's no way to tell until the plant reaches a certain age, or is put into 12 or more hours of darkness each day. so, say you get 4 males/4 females. what are you going to do with the males? if you cut them, their roots will begin to rot, spreading fungus/disease to the other roots. if/when this spreads they will die a slow, horrible death. say you get 6 males. even worse chances of survival. your whole philosophy is off because you don't realize that the plant's ROOTS are the most important part! abuse them and best case you get puffy popcorn that weighs out verrrrrry light. worst case your plants will die from disease, poor treatment or by way of 28 world book encyclopedias.

I'm not going to be picky, I'm going to try and get whatever I can get and keep things short if they are looking rough. But if they grow and stay really good looking I could push the process longer for some good yield. The thing they are in is like the size of a baby basket but deeper-ish.

LOL 42 plants 1st grow!!! that's epic haha. I'm going to check you out man. Sounds pretty interesting. I have no pictures yet. but hopefully soon. I don't own a camera and I'm a simpler person so my cell phone doesn't even have a camera. My friend who's supposed to be part of this project has been away for a while as the weather is pretty intense and no time for visiting. but he got a hold of me earlier and said that he will check up as soon as possible. I'll use his camera.

And just too let everybody know... The setup has not changed and I'm still playing balance the babies on small tower of books and stool and table

what the hell are you talking about and if there are males I'm obviously going to get them the fuck out brahhh. even popcorn buds would prove over half of you wrong... so that would be decent lol

And about my so-called "PHILOSOPHY" is what has worked before, and what is possible. I'm just imitating nature. so if my plants die of disease... that sucks, I will try my best to prevent and eliminate if possible. I don't know how you came to judge my philosophy by saying it's wrong when I came with pretty much no philosophy except with what has worked and what hasn't.... stop arguing with me.. because you can't. as I'm merely using all the information you guys are giving and a lot of information for other grows that have been in this situation that have come out successful. sooooo. good game?

Have you really not taken in the concept of tangled roots yet? As with the others, any pictures?
agreed, we're all waiting to see if someone is really this stupid.

@ tafbang, i said that was BEST CASE you get popcorn... and that's if you're extremely lucky. i'm tellin you man, roots = fruit, and yours sound like they're gonna be really unhappy.

i have to agree man, i didnt even know that!

i didnt know if you rip males out of the same pot ur females are in, that the left over male roots will rot and kill ur female roots.... however someone has told me that if you rip your males out of the same pot as ur females, as said, that your females could go hermie becuz of the male genetics in the left over male roots can latch on to the roots of the females. any comments to that?

that was fixed a long time ago when I separated and transplanted. and I just discussed the picture thing less than 5 minutes before you asked for pictures again.............................................................................................................................................................................................

they aren't even 20 days old yet..... there is not declared sex. well, maybe a couple could be 19 or 20 on this exact date. but they've all came out at different times

their roots grow straight down. usually no wider than the plants. the plants have plenty of space for now. they are no where near root hugging

hm, i have no clue about that... never heard about it, but it doesn't seem possible. i always read hermie-ing had more to do with light cycles and stress. but it could be true, honestly, growing that many plants close together could cause hundreds of problems. about what i said on root rot... i'm not takin that from any personal experience but logically it makes sense that if a disease is allowed to flourish, it could spread. and since the roots will be so stuffed in there i wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Going to go through your super grows now :)

has anyone seen the picture of the guy who found a 2ft marijuana plant growing out of one of his big green recycling bins? the seedling was inside of the bin and had grew out of a crack at the bottom and the plant was really thick and had some pretty-huge dense looking buds. I can't find the story or the picture online anymore

and the root rot, can be prevented with proper drainage and I don't eve water with a glass anymore. I spray feed the diameter of where the roots are with a febreeze bottle. It seems better to me as I can make sure the water gets to the roots. rather than dumping a bunch of water and hoping they get wet.

dude, you are so wrong! obviously you've never grown anything, and i'll save you the research. lateral roots spread out WIDE as far as possible... it is preposterous to say roots grow straight down no wider than the plant. you haven't the slightest clue how to care for your plants.

Well, I read that on this forum that the roots grow more downwards and I've seen it posted by at least 5 people with over 2000 post. I have no option but to leave them in their place as of now. so I'm going to take my chances.

just vote for all 8 die :)

Trees and shrubs are planted into the Smart Pot-In Ground™. As the roots of the plant grow, they hit the fuzzy inside fabric of the bag. Importantly, roots do not circle on the fabric as they do against plastic. Instead the root is caught by the fuzzy inner surface of the material. The root penetrates the fabric. The tough fabric, however, prevents the root from expanding. The root is choked or girdled by the fabric. The choking causes the root to lose its apical dominance and lateral branching or pruning occurs inside the bag."

that is wayyyy ahead of where I'm even at. but good thing I have plastic outing with plenty of drainage space :)

p.s. some people disapprove of that theory though also... but I'm not going to try and get myself in those situations.
