A Nurse's Journey (I am a man)

OK, so the plants were actually doing ok when I got home last night. I really had to think, what should do.... I could tell they were overnuted a bit, but were coping well. I decided I should just try to lower the conc. of the salt. I did a RO light watering, just enough to get a trickle out of the holes. I am hoping this will lower the salt conc. enough to be bearable and perhap benefit the plants. I will water next wil RO again, prior to going 1/4 on my nutes next week.

As I am on a schedule, I am going to have to flower next week as well. The plants are doing ok. As from the beginning, 2 strong plants, 4 medium plants, and I actually still have the little plants in 16oz cups. They are actually showing no signs of trouble, other than being small, due to their environment limitations. I am going to put them in 1 L margarine containers, that should give them a bit more space. I am limited to the amount of plants I can grow, so I want to keep these two really small.... If I can get like 10g from these small guys each, I will be happy.... very happy....

I want to thank the S man for his help last night too!!
Cheers!

I will get some pics up at the end of the week, when hopefully, they are recovered....
Cheers!

Since my nute incident and rapid intervention, the plants look pretty darn good. They have gained a good 2 inches over the past week, and are pushing 10 inches. I should be in perfect shape to flower in Monday....
As mentioned above, my next watering will be with RO again, as I am sure they is still adaquate nutes in the medium and the resevoir, since I have not done a large watering, more a just a dilution....
I will have to raise the lights tonight, the plansdt are about 8 inches away right now and quite happy. Temps have fallen outside to -25, so my room temps are steady at 72 day and 65 night. Humidity is reading at 60, but I have the meter right on the medium. If I place it just around the room, I read in at 45-50 perfect for flowering...
Once I flower, I am going to hang my 2 105CFL's just for some supplemental light. I will jsut rotate my plants after each water ing, and spin them daily.
What a nic smell tho, just subtle right now, but very pleasant. It is more of a nice fresh planty smell as opposed to a mirijuana smell. Which is good. I have no odor control going yet, and I can't smell a single thing yet.... Perfect! I have my homeade carbon filter, 5 ONA pucks, and a whole slew on incese and glad plug ins to use when needed!
That's all for now, pics will be up perfaps tonigh, or later in the week. Cheers!

Seems to be going much better for you, keep it up.
Just a tip that works for me. I wait for the soil to become very dry before watering. When you think it's time to water, look at the plants if they are still up and healthy looking, wait a day or two untill they droop down slightly. Then soak them till the bottom of the pot spill a fair amount of water. They will look great the following day. Don't water/feed again till they start to droop.
Cannabis loves to dry out and then be saturated again.

Just got caught up on your journal, glad to see your plants didn't die. Did you ever try soiless mix? Lets see how we get through the flowering stage now. So far I am doing good, I cant wait to get rid of two of those plants so I am down to a roomier 9 plants.
I will check in more often.

Yes, odor has to be my biggest concern... can't go to work smelling like weed plants...
I worry more about the mailman. It's lights on time that really starts sending the magic around and my house is not small and I don't have many plants. I'm really going have to seriously think about a complete enclosure and carbon filtration. Come spring I DO plan on having my windows open!

Where are you that it's twenty-five below today? Hudson Bay????? Or was that post yesterday? lol. I'm in Minnesota and hoping those days are behind us for this season.

Yeah, I think that's why I don't notice it at all. The lights go on at night. When I am at work, obviously don't smell anything, adn the lights are out by the time I get home.... Which is a good thing. Once I go 12/12, the smell will be limited (a little bit) to the nightime.

I am using this method to treat my outgoing air https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/63004-my-3-carbon-filter.html , plus I have a 96CFM carbon scrubber in the room right now which helps a ton.... Again, I got a ton of alternatives to use as well, but with a family, I gotta keep everything as quiet as possible!

Well, got my odor control going, slapped my carbon filter on my fan. Ait movement slowed alot, and temps rose to 85 in a few hours. I ahve put in some CO2 bottles, yeast, sugar and water. I am going to have to get an intake fan going to draw in the cool air from the home... Hopefully, things don't get too hot while sleeping. I am going to keep the door to the room open tonight... hopefully it will keep it cool for now... I may have to start my flowering now and give the plants a good 24 hrs of dark and get my intake ready for tomorrow.... ...

I woke up, and the temps were just at 90, not horrible witht he CO2... But I have to get things under control. I ordered another fan to aid in the exhaust, and I will add a passive intake with 3 inch PVC pipe. As long as I keep the door open a bit, the temps stay at about 85. The second fan, I am just going to attach it to the existing fan setup to add some great boost and creat a good negative pressure room... Down the line I may have to add a small carbon filter on top of the one I have, but we will see. I got the ONA out just to see how it works, within seconds the whole house smelled like ONA, and I only openned one puck, I have 5 in total... should help out a ton!

Plants look ok, but you can tell the heat is a little annoying to them, they dry out a bit quicker with temps like this... Once Lights go out, they will be happy again....
That' all for now, Cheers.

Pics will be up later tonight... It is warm in the room... have to keep the door open to keep it cool. I Should get my fan by next wed.... I think I am gonna stip the carbon filter off until I get the second fan.
The odor is minimal at best, and the ONA takes care of it, at least for now... Cheers!

Looking forward to seeing the new picks! My plants are doing well in 85 degree topped out temps. I have two that are pre-flowering now, and two that were slow from the start. I hear you about the warm room! I am trying to figure out how to better vent the heat from the overall space and not just the tent.

Yeah, They got one night at 95... the wife closed the door to the room... They are showing big time heat stress, just a lttle wrinkly leaves... They are bouncing back after a watering and cooler temps... I will get some pics of the damage.... I have my fan coming this wekk, so hopefully everything will be good...

Oh, I have just watered too, so that is why the leaves look "heavy"... they perk up after a few hours of watering... I had let them go 5 day no water, and the resevoir was dry... they were really thirsty!!!

You can tell they were thirsty and warm... The picture of the leaf close up you can actually tell that the stomas were closed, the plant was saving it's water.... That is how they survive during a drout... That's all, cheers...

Looking good man. I was thinking of harvesting today, but the results got back from microscopy. They think should wait. I've been staring at leaf structures for the last 1/2 hour at 250x.:hump: Verrrrry trippy! Wish I could photograph it. It's kind of a sweaty alien landscape with viscous resin trees everywhere.
