Hey upup sorry I missed your flowering question. To answer your question for lack of better words when my girls tell me its time. What I mean by this is I just started LSTing so first sign its time will be once the side growth starts to catch up to the canopy. I Still havnt constructed my flowering room so not sure my height restrictions but not terrible worried about it right now. I kind of want to see if I see better height and overall growth on these girls before I start to worry. Could easily be another two weeks before the great switch to 12/12.

Day 19 "reach for it"
Well both are responding exactly how I wanted them to the LSTing. Each plant, has already started to show several new potential tops. I will be giving a feeding today when they wake up, also I have decided to use miracle grow tomato only for nutes. I have never done this and am extremely interested to see how they respond. My buddy I mentioned before that has used this for years thinks after fighting him onto this for years I will have a whole new respect for M.G. guess only time will tell. I will get more in detail when I give feedings about using M.G. tomato.
I made this choice again to keep true to the idea that you can grow a decent plant with the basics and love.

DAY 20 " almost there"
No feeding today. Picked up the miracle grow tomato nutes today maybe someone should talk me down off this m.g. ledge lol. Also picked up some bigger pots so I will be transplanting them also on that note I decided to keep using the soil they have been in. Normally I would prefer coco and perlite, but keeping true to the idea of this grow this soil drains decent and these plants seem to be doing just fine. If somthings not broke why fix it?

Day 21 "had to do it"
Well I ended up FIMing the larger one last night. I want to stress this did not need to be done. I just new how much this particular plant was going to benefit. Please keep in mind for any new growers that FIM does not have guaranteed results usally due to the person operating the scissors (yes you can FIM a FIM lol)and anytime you cut into a plant you are stressing the plant and also possible exposing it do disease and or additional problems. Any questions on FIMing feel free to ask however only by P.M. sorry just really want this journal to be more about what a plant can do just being a plant without to much human intervention.

DAY 22 "moving on up"
Todays a big day transplanted both plants. Despite there short stature they both had a fantastic root system. I would have to guess they should start to really take off now that there in their new home. Still waiting on the side tops from LSTing to catch up to the original top but looking forward to switching to 12/12. I also fed them after the transplant I did not use nutes yet primarily because I added so much new medium I want them to use up some of the already present nutrients before adding more. Plus im super scared to use the M.G. planning on a 1/4 mix when I do feed next. Hope everyones grow is going fantastic out there! Thanks again for taking the time to read my journal.

Day 23 "new home new growth"
Plants took extremely well to the transplant. I swear the larger one grew a little more side growth last night. No feeding today, little concerned about the little plant. No signs of any deficiency or real problem outside of she just doesn't want to grow. Im thinking she was just so stress and stunted from seedling it altered her growth capability. Planning on vegging that one until shes to a more capable size of producing some kind of harvest. The healthier of the two will be going 12/12 very soon and will have at least 6 tops. She responded extremely well to the LST and FIM. I'm going to try and start taking pics from same angle to show growth and training a little better.

DAY 24 "HELLO LADIE!"

Today is very interesting it seems the large one has naturally started to show first signs of being a female! I am going to do my best to take a pic but guessing might not come out to great. I was LSTing her again (last time side growth has caught up to the main top I should have around 8 colas) when I seen those beautiful, sweet, amazing, little white hairs poking out. Anyways super pumped up about it not out of the woods yet could easily herm given the stress she went through as a seedling. Also gave a feeding with of m.g. finally mixed 1/4 the direction per gallon and only gave a half feeding (no run off). Little tip after you transplant and give that first initial feeding that fuses the medium so to speak the next two rounds I like to water the perimeter of the pot leaving the base a little more dry. Simply because it helps the roots spread out easier towards the drink and also helps prevent from soaking your main root ball. I
anyways again thanks to all that have taken the time to join this grow journal. Looks like 1/2 so far will stay with us till harvest! Happy growing everyone!

Day 25 "treat her like a lady"
everything is looking great! well let me re-phase that everything is looking great for what these two plants went through. Little disappointed in the smaller one just doesnt have the means to grow and really i'm starting to think about tossing that one just feel bad saving its life just to kill it. However, budding a 4in plant is not really worth the 3.0g harvest and I dont think it would matter if I veg it for a year probally be 6in. I dunno will see. No feeding today will be switching to 12/12 soon at least the big one. Any thoughts give me a shout.

Day 26 "Fuck its hard thinking of a stupid ass phrase everyday I don't know why I even started to do this dumb shit."

not much happening today. I Will be feeding tonight when the lights come on. Hopefully see some growth on the little one thinking im going to make a small 12/12 box and force a cutting. Going to start adding a ton of new light to them as well as switching soon to a higher mix of 2700k for flowering.
feeding tonight will be a full feeding distilled water only.

haha...yeah man, im sure its time consuming to think of zingers sometimes. keep it up burn1. ive missed a lot over here. looks like the veg engine fired up on the bigger one. congrats on the female chilln. interesting choice on nutes, i didnt expect you to take that route. i guess its not in the label but in the contents of the ferts. <-----mlk inspired thought lol....but anyway...its tough to tell you to pull the plug or not on the smaller one. I would say why nnot grow her out. She can grow up in the shadows of her bigger sis. Reminds me of me and my older brother. lol. How big are the new pots? What ferts do you usually use if it wasnt for this down to the basics grow. Sorry about the side tracking thoughts, Pretty high over here.

Hey mehrific glad to see you back! first off never be sorry for being high and involved it's a open journal so itsthe impossible to sidetrack. second my decision is beyond interesting its kind of messed up and against everything I normally do. I was pooring the damn miracle grow on my girls. slapping myself while I wheeped singing my sorrows to the sweet sounds of blame it on the rain by millie vanillie bad times brother! Anyways I am now high too and to answer your question I would normally use botanicare pure blend pro grow 3-2-4 with pro bloom 1-4-5 really great organic nute with 100% plant soluble organics I also have a small secret organic tea that I add to feedings with my pro bloom. Im not against non organic more main stream nutes like f.f. or a.n. but I dont care about flush nothing beats the taste of true organic bud done right personal preference. Why its hard to use the miracle grow in my mind I question if it really fits with my idea of a simple grow meaning it would be just as easy to use fox farm or pure blend etc. but obviously really miracle grow is far easier to obtain for folks that may not have a hydro store around or dont want to go to a hydro store or dont have the cash for more expensive nutes. The pots are 2 gallon dollar store specials might end up in a 3 but no need for my typical 5. Also my total spending so far on everything in this grow equals $17.00 granted neighbor gave me soil and I used a few things from around the house. Glad to see you around again hope all is going great for you! Oh yeah sorry about your brother but remember just like a plant if you super crop his knees your the same height.

Day 27 " veg engine is fired up"
Everything is about the same as yesterday. Have some more light to throw at them think If I wanted I could be around 150watts - 200 watts (actual) over 10,000 L placed correctly PAR for the course of flowering and some swelled up juicy buds.bongsmilie

Thanks! Right on man! I'm so addicted to Steelhead I got a full tattoo sleeve in the works. A big colored up buck on the outside chasing a smolt and a bright hen on the inside. I live on a river and can fish em from the front yard. All private property due to certain state laws. The hatchery runs are over though since the state gov. is chasing federal funding. Still get some Salmon and "native" Steelhead but it is closed to anything but hatchery Steelhead. I'm looking forward to the updates on your grow. This is an intriguing one.

damn man thats amazing you have steelie fishing in your backyard! Probably a good thing I don't...be hard for me to hold a job lol. Hell between salmon/steelhead and then ice fishing for jumbo perch and walleye its hard to hold a wife lol. Salmon are fun but my favorites taking a fly/spawn sack etc. casting right at the backs of the salmon laid up on them gravel pits and let it bounce past the salmon right into those waiting steelhead lot of my buddys still cant figure out why I always catch the steelies out of the group. Anyways thanks for signing on I hoped this journal would be somewhat informative and intriguing. Really its the only reason I decided to do this journal figure theres a 1000 look what I can grow journals this one is a tiny break from the norm.
