Yeah 1 veg 240w, 5 flower 240ws... I usually use 1 of each for veg and the other 4-5 for flower

This grow will be resuming again shortly (yay!)

damn thats alot nice. how far away are your normally from the tops? i just got a pg-180 and dont exactly know ow far to put it

At first I put'em close but ended up with light burn/cal-mag deficiencies. I still haven't decided what the ideal height is yet, but it's somewhere between 1-2'. These LEDs are deceptive -- nowhere near as bright as HPS but the lights don't need to be as close for them to get good energy -- mine were putting out bigger buds than my old 600w hps w/ enhanced spectrum and that 600w was really high intensity lighting and I kept it as close to the plants as I could without bleaching occuring. It really is true that the energy carry in those frequencies is pretty potent for what the plant needs. I'm thinking the hps/led combo is going to be perfect -- intensity + energy in needed spectrums.

Last grow I started my veg with cfls, This time around I have my blackstars to start with so I'm trying to dial in the right height as well. I decided on 15" from my containers and they are doing fine, so far. It has only been a few days though.

Sounds about right. Look for little yellow speckles or mg deficiencies in the leaves if you see'em, move it up and add some cal-mag.

I think the best distance from the light, if you do not care about coverage, is the distance from the two furthest apart LEDs. For example:

That way it is far enough away for every LED to blend with every other LED. Therefore being as close as possible while blending all bands of light. Whats your thoughts on that.
This would only be theoritically true if using the round LED diodes, the square/ flat LED diodes flatten out making the distance between the blends shorter than round diodes. Round diodes designed for canopy penetration while the square diodes for a larger footprint. At least that is what I've noticed in my aquarium.
