Maybe check out some natural sources, I believe that some teas have a natural amphetamine, most likely better for you. I'm not anti pharm, so much as pro educated decision and usually that makes me anti pharm. I only did the ritalin for a little while around my freshman year in high school. At the time I mostly remember it leaving me sorta moodless, I didn't like it. I'm a firm believer that nature has what it takes to balance all of us. I also bet that you could find some concentration exercises that would help. I know my pandora station has been advertising some website that is supposed help make you sharper.

Does zoning out on music help, I'm a Deadhead and Jerry does wonders. 3 hour concert can make a long drive go by like nothing, I don't know if thats helpful but I seem to have better concentration when jamming out. Not on what other people are saying, but I can stay on task.

Music makes it a lot worse. Finally had to acknowledge that and turn the tunes off when I'm working. It's just another distraction really. I have to think critically all day long, it's not like doing work where you can go through the motions mindlessly. It's more like doing math problems that could kill you. :bigjoint:

A lot of people don't really care for Ritalin. It works better for kids for some reason. I didn't find it very helpful. Dexedrine never did anything strange to me but I only went on it for a little while. No ups, downs, or any of that shit, just calm and focused. Adderall... was another story.
