Clones placed in Aeroflo60 + extension - started off low on nutes - plan is to work it up.

Using General Hydroponic nutes.

Have about 70 gal between both reservoirs.

Micro 1/2 cup
Grow .85 cup
Bloom 1/2 cup

Plants under 4 600 watt light at this stage (2 on each side). Will have 4 on each side turned on in about 1.5 weeks.

2 large air stones in res.

before feed readings:
PPM 90
PH 6.8

After feed read
PPM 275
PH 6.6

Res temp 71

Its been a while since I last posted on this.

Here is the update so due to the lights being on 24/7 the res temp was getting high - a few times to the mid to high 70's. I knew I needed to get the chiller so I did. I got the 1/4 HP. I was thinking of getting the 1/2 HP but the guy at the grow shop said the 1/4 would be able to do what I need to do. Plus about to flip the lights so this should help too.

Root rot was a concern so I got the Chiller.

I did a res change about 1.5 weeks after transplant. I am currently due for another one its been almost 2 weeks since the last one.

On the first res change. I figured about 70 gals of h20 was in there. This is what I added as far as nutes go:
MICRO 1.75 CUPS
GROW 4.25 CUPS
BLOOM .88 CUPS
DIAMOND NECTAR 2.5 CUPS
FLORALICIOUS GROW 1.5 CUPS
SHIELD 142 tsp

PH 5.7
PPM 1388
TEMP OF H20 65

- After seeing the PPM's at this level - Even after following the nutrient chart. I decided to pull out about 32 gallons of h20 and refill with water - to prevent nute burn. I thought the PPM was too high at this point in the game.

final reading PH 5.63
PPM 808 (better considering PPM was at 749 prior to res change)

One day I didnt check the system after this res change and the h20 level was so low - a few rows of plant became wiltered. I did a refill and added nutes. They came back around within hours. I wont do this again. Due to the heat from the light the water disapates quickly - gotta keep an eye on this!

Also did a foliar sray and had some spider mites did a spray for this as well not on the same day.

Since the top off I noticed some weird things happening with some of the plant leaves. I am attaching a pic. I noticed this more on the rows where the plants took a beating from the lack of water. But now I see this on some of the other plants. I emailed someone on this he thinks maybe using PH up locked out some nutes making it deficient in potassium? I am attaching the pic. The leaves turn like a yellow - bright color.

Another question for people that may have some insite on this. Did anyone have moisture problem outside of the grow room due to high humidty levels that are created by this system. On the last go around our garage roof on he inside became really moist and damp. The entire roof needs to be redone. I have 2 dehumidifyers going and they fill up on the daily. The roof currently doesnt have any vents. There are just 2 vents one in the from where the arch is and one on the back side. I havent changed the roof yet. The grow room is enclosed and insulated.

I found out that the nutes dont need to be as strong as they recommend and from talkin to a few people with the same systems you should peak at about 1000ppm. Looks awesome, I havent seen anybody with an extension before. I gotta have it

You are right on this finding out the same. Anything past 1000 starts to create nute burn on the tips. I've had the ppms as hight as 1300 but stiving to keep them in the 1000 level. The plants keep taking up the h20 - as well as evaporating in the air. I am constantly changing the tank on the dehumidifyer I got like 2x a day. Once the h20 level drops the nutes increase so I am topping off 1x a day with h20 and increasing some nutes every other day.:weed:

Air is being vented outside - outdoors. Though a carbon filter.
Most dehumidifiers have a way to run the water they collect back to the Res.its pure water just have the drain on the back hooked to a garden hose going into the res.,and plug the hole that lets water collect in its bucket the dehumidifier will need to be elevated so gravity will do the work. This way it never shuts off due to being full dehumidifies 24/7 plus you don't have to empty it out manually.Wouldnt do it any other way.

I will look into this but honestly speaking I am not sure how I feel about this. My roof got so much moisture damage from the previous run. Where I live mold is an issue and I got mold on the inside of the roof on the wood
(I treated it but the rod needs to be replaced). I have the plants and system in a room - not exposed to the outside that had damage done. I would replace the roof but I want to make sure I got the problem under control or else it could happen again and be a waste of $. I dont know about letting the dehumidifyer drain back into the res as I am not sure if it may be slightly contaminated. I dont want to risk anything this go around. I am in a major hole right now - need this to come through.

I would do this if things were different. I am just going to the spot 2x a day to make sure this is done.

Ok so things look good so far.

I got the chiller - when the lights were on 24/7 this was really heating up the res. As we all know warm res is asking for trouble. I couldn't risk anything here so got the chiller.

Been 12 on 12 off for a few weeks/ maybe going on 3 weeks now. I have been consistently changing the res every 1.5 weeks. I found that using the shop vac works great. However now since I got the chiller and using 2 res that connects togather. I found that with the chiller one hose goes from one res to the chiller then back out into the other res for proper circulation with a pump. So I just pump the water out when I need to change the res. So damn easy now! Pump that h20 into a bucket or I pump into the shop vac - take the top off an pump it in. Hope u can use this tip.

Other than that keeping the PH around 5.8. PPM under 1000. I said this before too, that I noticed on this system anything over 1000 starts nute burn the tip get light. I have had the PPM at 1300 before, but not for very long. I try to have it at a range of about 1000 PPM. Have others seen this? I know one guy said this was true with him too.

I am dumping the dehumidifier collection 2x a day. That thing runs 24-7 and is collecting some major h20 in the air. I guess when you have 70 gals. circulating there bound to be a lot of humidity. Esp when it heats up with the lights.:fire:
I have been doing the foliar spray 2x a week while lights are off.

On res change.
I am putting these nutes in:
MICRO 60 TSP
GROW 60 TSP
BLOOM 180 TSP - due to being in the bloom stage.
DIAMOND NECTAR 60 TSP
Floralicious Grow 60 TSP
Shild - for roots 60 TSP

Its about 60 gals of h20 when I fill.

Hope it keeps progressing nicely.

Let me know what you think, or if there is something I should be doing or not doing.

Plan is to get some better fans up to circulate the air. I noticed in the section where the air is not reaching these plants are not thriving as well.

Thanks for stoppin by :leaf:

lookin real good man. kinda hard to tell from the pics, but are your lights air cooled? i dont remember u saying anything about it, and im too lazy to go back and read it all again. they look like they might be stretching some, but that could just be cuz they are being grown in an aero. ive only used one of those systems once, and it was the 20 site, but i remember them stretching a lot and they were under 2 1K lights. They just grow so fast in those systems, and there isnt much u can do about it. but again, they look real good. nice and healthy. please follow thru with this thread. all the way thru harvest. ill be watching. im curious to see how this works out for u. really curious about the yields on these things. been thinkin about goin back to a system like this, but ive been getting really good results from soil grows lately.

The foliar spray I use (DM) says to apply with lights on and to make sure they are on for atleast 30 min after spraying. How often and how much are you hAVing to top off your rez between flushes? I am running a 60 site and it is using bout 8 gallons a day. Maybe u need a bigger dehumidifier, how many pints does it hold?? I have a 65 pint and I am have to empty it once a day, but I am keeping my humidity at 45% Also I reuse the water I empty from it, Ihave read that the water is basiclly the same as RO water. I hope you follow through with this post too, I will be following to the end.

No he lights are not air cooled. Is this a bad thing? They do grow fast I was thinking about starting the 12/12 sooner then I did next time.

i got a 1000w vented hooked to 8 in. centrifigul fan and charcoal filter makes a big differance opposed to non vented have no heat issues can touch the glass at all times on the light kinda sucks in the winter months when i could use the free heat but rather pay than have temp problems nice grow thinkin bout getting one of those aeroflo 36 in the next wk or so doin the research now

You can put a thermostat on the fan and have it help regulate the temp. I have mine set to only come on if the temp is above 75
