Not yet. Im curious to see how they've improved now. I saw it has over "100 improvements". But the Extra is working nice for now.

Yea I have to admit this thing looks REALLY NICE!, not to mention all the cool new automated, intelligent features, this thing is completely customizable and dam near does all the work for you, after the initial set up all you have to do is change the nutes/solution when it tells you, doesn't get much easier than that, the dam thing actually has an Onboard "Garden Coach" that gives you tips/recommendations on how to grow better, this thing is the Ferrari of AG's. I picked up a AG SS6 dirt cheap at a thrift store about a month ago, everything worked so I couldn't pass it up for only $6, currently growing a jalapeno plant as a test grow and its as healthy as can be, don't have any batteries for my camera but its growing like a weed, beautiful lush green color and nice fat white roots. I actually let the first nute solution go too long before I changed it and I started off with only 1/4 strength, at day 13 I noticed some brown slime on the roots so I put some peroxide in with the intention to change the solution the next day, this really helps clean and refresh the roots but like a dumb ass I forgot and let it go another 3 days, I think the peroxide killed off or did something to the nutrients because the jalapeno plant started getting a deficiency and actually had some dead/brown spots on a couple leaves. This may not be attributed to the peroxide but rather the plant just used up all the nutrients in the solution, very possible since it was only 1/4 strength. Well I changed the solution on day 16 and added slightly more kelp extract than normal (along with my barrage of other nutes & microbes) and within a day it had bounced back, 3 days later and it was looking fantastic and the dead spots were merely tiny little specs that had practically completely healed, SEA KELP EXTRACT IS THE SHIT!!!!!! I've heard about its ability to replenish hormones in plants and that's what they use to heal themselves, well this has absolutely been confirmed for me, I'll be using kelp extract from now on or until something better comes along anyway. I'm REALLY considering getting one of these AG ULTRA's, however I think $250 is a little steep, $200 would be a decent deal but I imagine it will go down eventually, can't wait to see what they come up with next, gonna have to be pretty impressive to follow the Ultra, we'll just have to wait and see.

Bringing this one back to life for a bit........ I just bought the ag ultra this last week. Im getting ready to do some auto pineapple express as soon as I get my order from attitude. Also have some autoxtreme and nl X skunk1 coming in the order Im gonna be using the ag ultra for the autos , I think it would be a waste to put the nl x skunk1 in such a small climate as the ag those will be for the great out doors this spring. All in all the ultra should be perfect for auto strains that stay short like the pineapple express , being a short single cola plant . How ever you could do some serious lst with just about any good strain in the ultra. The biggest improvements are the new lights are friggin bright as hell , fully customizable controls let you select the time to turn the lights on off , the duration of the light timers any desirable timing you want ( if you want the lights on 24/0 23/1 18/6 12/12 ) same as the pump any configuration of on/off times you want. You can set the pump to run 30 min then be off 5 min if you so desire. The light hood is extendable to a full 24 inches and gets as close as 6 inches from the base for starting seedlings. The reservoir holds over a full gallon of water and is much deeper and more squared off like a tub to accommodate more root growth. I think its gonna be a great little winter supply machine for the faster flowering autos and shorter strains. Ill leave the big tall ladies to mother nature . Seeds were dispatched today coming to oh, plus I get a cool coffee mug to sip from ... . Now if they just make it to me unmolested by big brother. This is my first time ever ordering such things, but buddies of mine have been doing for years.

maxgrow lights. I cant find any difinative specs on the lumens I would guess to say that if you had a 75watt mh and a 75watt hps running together is what they look like on brightness ,,,, but that's a guess. However plenty for a small space doing some lst or autos.

I'll be checking in this thread for updates. Curious about the ULTRA, AG EXTRA works great for me but the ULTRA looks awesome.

I currently have a auto berry ryder on day 29(from seed) in the ultra overall I like it, the reservoir tends to get a little warm and the anchor for the fill lid caught a case of slimy algae which I cured by cutting it off and soaking the lid in food grade H2O2. I am using H2O2 with my nutes now and adding ph'd ice cubes to the rez in order to cool it down and top off at the same time ;).

I did notice the res gets a bit warm. Im gonna get an air pump and stone to pump some fresh o2 into the water and hopefully this will cool the water some too.

I have a pretty good pump and two air stones in mine, I think because we only have like a 1.2-1.5gal(I wish we could get the exact number) rez the water tends to get to room temperature quickly plus the lights add to the heat and if using supplemental lights like me keeping the rez temps in check is a big issue to avoid root rot and other baddies from growing.

I have two 2700k 42w and two 2700k 18w cfls in 60w architect lamps. I started with the cfls to see if they would boost growth but really cannot tell a difference. I started with two autos so the cfls were on both sides of the ag but when one turned out to be male I pulled it and focused all the lights on my final plant.

Hey guys...I recently purchased a AG Utra....I am a very first time grower and really need some sort of step by step with tips assistance. I know someone will probably give me grief...but we all have to start and learn from somewhere. Please help or point me in the right direction.

Ps..I have some seeds a friend gave me..I don't know the strain or name but they are def bud seeds. Thanks

Hello there Sexyafrican! Nice name :-) Check out my thread in this forum https://www.rollitup.org/aerogardeners/633232-ak-47-lowryder-autos-aerogarden.html. Its my first grow as well. You can see all of the items I collected for the grow as well as the problems I have had thus far. Read up on the other grow journals in this sub forum and you should get a good idea of what you need, and what to look out for.

Lots of experienced growers started with the AG, so you can get a lot of helpful tips from them (I'm not one of them :bigjoint:)

Newbt, I just hooked mine up, waiting on good seeds to come. Having issues with other seeds that are under the lights, but they are not in the water yet. About the heat- I was researching also and came across a thread where someone had covered the res with foil and the holes and it got too warm. Maybe that's it. The air pump would be a good idea, placing it nearer to the floor where the temps are lower? I was worried about mine getting too cold, added a fish tank heater set to 70f and it got way too hot with the lights. Remember, I haven't used the res yet, waiting on good seed to arrive, but I am following the Aero secton close for when I go full speed.
