AK47 From Serious Seeds - Start To Finish

Hey guys my last post wasn't well organized so I decided I'd redo it. I currently have 5 AK47 from serious seeds and 3 Power Skunks that came free with my order. I started the grow on November 2nd, 2008.

The Soil and Nutes:
The soil I am using is Fox Farm Ocean Forest and I have Advanced Nutrients 3 pack from flowering just in case. I know Advanced Nutes isn't meant from a soil medium but I didn't know that when I bought them.

Lights:
I have (2) 4ft t5 tubes each putting out around 5000 lumens a piece. I also have (6) 26 watt CFL's putting out around 2600 lumens a piece. I am going to invest in 2 more t5 tubes for my veg room.

In my flower room I have a 250 HPS but I may end up upgrading it to a 400.

Cooling:
For my veg room, I have a clip on fan and 1 inline duct fan to pull out air. I have passive intake with the duct fan attached to my exhaust duct. The clip on fan blows around air on the inside.

For my Flower room, I have (2) inline duct fans pulling in around 270CFM each. I also have a oscillating fan inside that room to move around air.

Measurements:
My veg room is about 3ft tall x 6ft wide x 3ft deep.
The Flowering Room is 4.5ft tall x 4ft wide x 3ft deep.

=======

So far the lights are on 18/6 and 4/8 plants have sprouted. Pictures are below along with my veg setup. Please stay tuned and help me out on account this is my first grow. Thanks guys!! :joint::mrgreen:

Update:

I have noticed serious growth in all the seedlings. A little streaching has occurred due to the distance of the T5's from the plants but i think i have fixed that problem (I placed books under the pots). I also watered all the plants today as they were looking a little dry.

I also went and picked up a bottle of Root Excelerator from the store and I'm mixing a gallon of that as we speak.

Pictures below of all the 5 AK's and 3 Power Skunk. Also i was really happy that i got an 8/8 seeds germinated and all the sprouted. Serious seeds has some quality stuff for anyone looking at getting new seeds. Good Quality.

One thing i have noticed with some of the seedlings, is that some of the leaves are starting to droop a little. What is the because of? That's really the only problem i've run into so far. 1 Has a little burned leaves because the CFL's were to close, but it's looking good.

To everyone wondering, I added 6 CFL's to the veg room. As of now I have (2) 4ft t5's and also (6) 26 watt daylight CFLs.f

Stay tuned and feel free to give me advice. Adios :weed:

Update:

Starting using root excel. Mixed 4 gallons of it with 4mL of root accelerator. (That's what it says to use on the bottle.)

Noticed some burn spots on the plants soon after probably due the root accel? Need some help on diagnosing this one guys...

In other news, the plants are getting bigger and looking better than ever. Anybody got names for them? 5AK47 3 PowerSkunk

Also, what do you guys think the droopy leaves are from?

Update:

Serious growth can be noticed now. I changed my watering cycles from every 2 days to every 4 days and the plants have shown quite a bit of improvement.

I have concluded that the burn on one of my plants was from the nutrients already in the Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil so most likely the plant was not ready for nutrients so early. Never the less, it is still chugging along. New nodes are coming up all over the place and I'm getting really excited. My room is starting to smell really "leafy" haha.

Thanks for tuning in. Pictures to be uploaded soon.

These 2 pictures with the sharpies in them are from 2 days ago. (Sorry I'm a bit behind on this journal...) That other photos without the sharpies are from today. You can see the growth that has occurred over a couple days time and it's quite incredible! Pictures below...

Also if you guys care, the names of my plants are duct taped to the pot they are in. My biggest one is named "Bubby".

Update:

Watered last night with the last of my Root Accelerator. So i made more Root Accelerator (3 Gallons worth) and also made another 3 Gallons of Molasses mixed with water. Plants are doing great!!! Really green except i noticed some of them are getting red stems :o...

In other news, i bought a 400 watt digital ballast along with a 400 MH and HPS. I plan on taking the plants off the floros and T5's in a little (Maybe by Tuesday) and switch them to the Halide.

That's it for now. Pictures will be uploaded sometime tomorrow, as i'm bogged down right now with :joint:. Chao
