Alaska, Oregon and D.C. legalized rec cannabis

I have a long-time medical grower friend here in Alberta that I trade clones with. He's grandfathered in from the MMAR laws.

The way it works here is that he's permitted to grow 25 plants at a time, however, the law only recognizes plants that are flowering to be cannabis. He can legally have a whole houseful of vegging plants, as many as he wants.

However, last April, they changed the laws so that nobody can grow at home anymore. It's still going through the courts, so there's a big grey area surrounding the whole thing.

He also sometimes gets audited, where they come in and inspect everything. There's no locked room laws or anything like that, but he does have to have a home alarm system.

I for one am not legal, and I never will be if I have to register with a governmental agency and law enforcement just to grow my own medicine.

Congratulations to our fellow citizens in AK, OR, and D.C.!

IMO, come 20 April, stoners should flock to D.C. and encircle the white house and capital building with a huge circle of smokers and smoke those bitches out for spite.
im sure obama ben laden has his own circle going in the white house o_O

Although a lot of the voter lobbying came from large corporations outside of those states for the prospect of large gains in the newly emerging markets, it's still a good thing.
Spec, guess where I live. You know, I've heard that charge before about corporate lobbying and backing the push for the new law, but I cannot find any evidence of it. -Anywhere.

There were two major backing groups that raised $4 million and both were collecting donations from the public during the last two years.

It's been a long, long time since I smoked a joint, but as of July 1 I can smoke again, legally. I want to grow a few plants but I know nothing about it so I better get learning!

You're definitely in the right place to learn how to grow :) Welcome to RIU!

A good starting resource to gather up a lot of the early information is at http://growweedeasy.com . Read through the Basics section.

Well from what I understand the original law allows 25 plants to be grown. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ravin_v._State
http://norml.org/laws/item/alaska-penalties

Ballot measure 2 that passed only allows for 6.

The 1975 decision was important because personal use falls under the privacy part of the constitution of Alaska.

So BM cannot change the constitution so the 25 plants should still be legal.
The wording is "less than 25 plants"
24 is the magic number.

Graft's ?
Whazzat mean?

2 or more plants can become 1 with eaze thru grafting

Grafting is very common in the nussery business , they graft root stock to a known varity of a simmilar plant that has certain features

You would take two branches from seperate plants and cut them on a 45 degree angle and tie them together , and they will grow together , creating 1 plant . As long as the graphted part survives it will leagly be one plant. (their are many simmilar ways to preform the same thing)

i would have to recomend a camera with a cloud service for this , and a good lawyer but it will leagly be 1 plant

No offense but thats retarded
its not a japanese apple pear yes it can be grafted. ......but it does nothing to increase preformance

if you ever broke a branch and taped it up you just grafted yay...

or you could just grow it big???

It would be more about volume than preformance

You could quite literally have a square mile (or more) with a plant every square meter , and it would only count as 1 plant

you graft mothers together ........ then you could have 2-3 mothers on one plant ...... and there is no technical about it if it has one root ball and everything grows from one stem....... it is one plant ..........

So do tell how many full size plant is this one rootball gonna feed?
and why wouldnt you just grow a big plant to begin with

its fuckin dumb in my opinion

but if you offer valid point as to how it would beat a single plant and ill retract my statement and apologize

edit ill give you.the mother thing thats clever if it doesn't mess with anything and as long as you label the branches? And hope your one mom doesn't have probs lol
