I was just wondering what kinds of opinions non-US citizens had about American policy? How it affects you? Specifically the wars going on.

From a non-biased perspective, what's your current take on things?

Being a citizen, I can't participate in the poll, but here's my opinion: American foriegn policy is dictated by corporations. Exploitation of natural resources is high on the list of foriegn policy. Exploitation of foriegn labor is next. We are in the business of using foriegn lands just like our forefathers used this country and exploited most of our natural resources. We go in and placate the government with money and weapons, then extract the resources and leave the ruiness mess behind. We sell weapons to both sides of waring nations, and protect those we are doing business with. The USA is the evil empire, not the people, but the corporations and the bought and paid for government. Business as usual for this country is to fuck over anyone that disagrees with us and our empire building. I am not proud to be an American as American are percieved around the Globe. Obama is trying to put lipstick on the pig, but it is still business as usual.

I'm surprized you didn't get a flock of comments from the right. I guess we can figure that most of those on the right are citizens and Jingoists, while our foriegn friends are mostly centrists or left oriented. In fact, on the right, Jingoism ranks high on their perverted views of the world. Money and country, hoorahh.

They have nothing to say in the face of the numbers. But I'm sure we're all just naive kids...

Why?

The point of the poll was to see what people outside the US thought of our policies.
it's quite easy to criticize the actions of one of the driving forces of the world's economies. it's another thing altogether to come up with viable alternatives. the role this country continues to play around the world cannot help but be influenced by the demands that have been made upon her by the rest of the international community, demands that have always been met. is it so much to ask what contributions other countries have made that could rival the aid we have given to them? our policies are the product of our history and that history, though far from spotless, is one that includes only a fraction of the transgressions of most other major powers during their times of supremacy.

I know I'm an American citizen but I'm going to say something anyway. Don't I always. . .

The United States of America, it's concepts of freedom for all, and it's citizens are all GREAT! It's the government (which ultimately leads to corporations, and from there - GREED) that is a horrible existence in this world.
