i'll most likely be popping a few pretty soon just to get a feel for their preferences, and the rest will be started indoors in late march - early april and moved outside in late may. i'll be sure to toss up a thread when the time comes.

Spring?, the ground hasn't even frozen yet...think I'll do some site work over the weekend. What a change from last year, haven't seen a Winter this mild in 30 years.

Already planted my onions and my garlic. Have a few seedlings going will probably through some clones out by the end of the month for a early harvest. keepem green dirrtyd

Fine by me, tomorrow I'll go dig some holes and amend before it finally freezes later in the week. Then it can freeze/thaw, and when it finally thaws for good I'll dump molasses in the holes come April. Then I'll plant in early June with some Espsoma nutes!.

The ski resorts/snowplow drivers are pretty pissed though...oh well.

my nephew just told me onions and garlic will help keep the pests away? is that true? i'm not a great gardener, YET

Weird year for sure. Had a little snow in November (first time ever), the ponds froze earlier than ever, and then well above average temperatures most of December & January. But...I've been sucked in too many times. No matter how mild the early part of the year, if I try and put plants out early there'll be a frost.

I used to grind up garlic, yellow onion and cayenne pepper, mix them up and ad water to make a tea. let it set in the sun for a day or two then strain it and spray it.
Now i use a commercial organic pesticide, it works better and is much less hassle.

Kiss my ass! (jk) but man am I envious of you west coasters and ur weather! It aint been too cold for too long here yet, but it's gettin that way. Spring will be warmly welcomed round these parts!

It has been unusually warm winter, but there's been some pretty fuckin cold days here and there too!

We had 1 good storm the first week of October, but VERY little since. The weatherman says no rain in the 10 day forecast either....damn. I'm loving this weather, but I'm a realist, and I know we need some water here to have a good season....common rain!

We're 13 inches above the yearly average for rain in 2011 so I'm hoping that helps make my trees 13 times bigger than normal! lol
But all jokes aside, I am hoping it cuts down on the amount of watering trips I have to make to the site!

This little system has always done well for me, but I do know a couple of growers that wait until late May or even June.

June's too late. I've had people tell me that they plant in early June and I tried it one year. I planted one crop in April and another in June and the difference was unbelievable. The plants put in the ground in April were 2-3 times the size of the ones I planted in June!

Plant outside as soon as the temps get above freezing and stay. The earlier the better=bigger!


Now I'm "Jonesin" for spring more than I already was! Thanks OP! lol

My carport has lasted thru 40mph winds with only minor damage.

In my humble opinion your nephew would be correct. It has worked for me so I stick with it. Just one part of my prevention plan. This hudson Fogger is looking great can't wait to plug her in and spray. keepem green dirrtyd

I have to say, this is probably best forum I been associated with and I've on a few in my day.
Seems like far less ego's and attitudes and a bunch more sharing of ideas and great advice.
So I want to know; could it be that everyone on here is way cool, or do you guys just smoke a lot more? LOL

jonesing for spring here too, only about 8-10 weeks untill i start getting things ready for next year.

and yea nothing but good vibes and constructive criticism around here.

Just took the first few cuttings off what I call my Jonesin' Clones. Still barely enough room under my light (singular), but obviously I'm backing into an indoor set-up.

Sometimes I have twinges of "conscience" because my indoor set-up is incredibly casual compared to the seasoned growers. I just use what's worked forever to start organic seedlings in a location that's never had a bad bug and they behave just like tomatoes. :-/

Way jonesin' for spring! I have a bunch of veggies, flowers and my first MJ grow outdoors so I'm super stoked. Plus it's been the biggest pussy winter in all my years so It is tempting me even more. Right now we have zero snow cover when normally we have at least a few feet! I've done lOots of research this winter... So I'm excited for planting season!

jonesin bad bad first outdoor guerilla MJ grow awaiting me and like previously mentioned this halfassed winter is making me want to plant about a month early. If i dont i'm gonna have to top the girls about 3 times to keep them where i can transport them still.
