It is still topping and isn't recommended for autos. They just dont have the time to recover, IMO.

That being said you can top your autos all you want, it will work. You'll just likely yield less than if you left it alone.

I hear you but Unkle Ben says it can be done so i have no reason to doubt him as he is one of the most reliable people on here and probably any other website.

For those not familiar with this technique you top roughly 1cm above the second true node (not the cotyledon), and topping is NOT stressful to plants it is simply redirecting auxin hormones.

From what i read autos grow really fast so plant should recover in no time. Ill do one to test.

It sounds to me like you have already made up your mind and didn't need to ask this question to begin with.
Good luck.

What? Duh? Huh? Try to keep up.

You asked if anyone had tried topping an auto. It doesn't matter if it is uncle bens ways or barney rubbles way. Topping is topping. I thought I'd let you know that topping is stressful to autos and they dont have time to recover. ya know, Good advice.

You decided to toss that to the wind and tell me it can be done because uncle ben says so.

Then your mind is made up. Go top your auto. Enjoy your tiny yield.

think about it, for a plant that has a veg period of around maximum 3 weeks ( if it is a true auto) you think topping that would be a clever thing to do?

with a photo strain you top her, and she recovers and continues to veg and grow big, you don't have that option with auto's, they grow and you get what you get.

I would try it with a strain that has more sativa than indica, just so you can get more flowering time. Pay no attention to amaximus,,,,his/her posts are 99% sarcastic smart ass replies,,,and I could a fuck about how much grow experience he/she has. Complete douche bag IMO!

I would not top Autoflowers at all. Everything I found on topping Autos, from dependable sources, i.e. the breeders, a shit load of growers, said not to touch them. The common explanation was: It is akin to topping a Photoperiod Cannabis plant that is in its flowering cycle. Since the Autos only have a "veg" or "veg like" cycle of like approx. 2 weeks even if it was somehow topped right when it sprouted it wouldn't have time to fully recover. But lately I have been seeing these Super Autos that take like 90-120 days, seed to weed,. They get huge relative to the lowryder family autos, anywhere from 4'-6' even 7',8'. They are basically a pure Indica that doesn't need reduced light to flower and at 120 days they wouldn't be any quicker.

Go for it :!: The only way to find out is try. Just because others cannot do it does not guarantee you will fail. As BuffaloBanjo said Autos are not all what they use to be.

lol.
The fact that you state 99% of my posts are smart ass just proves that your research is as thorough as your growing advice is sound. Let me know how those topped sativas yield.

No big surprise that the guy that doesn't know what he is talking about has resorted to name calling.
Done with you. Unsubbed.
