EDIT(woops about the seedlings. i posted a thread earlier..they didnt look to good all good now tho)

I've only been growing about 5 years or so, but I remember turbo tanks. They are sorta like NFT where there is no medium and the nutrients just flow throught the tanks or channels. No reason you can't do that now.

Oh I see, you are trying to recreate FlithyFletch's system --- well that is simple, just ask him!... lol --- If you are far enough along and ask good questions, I'm sure he will get you through your first grow in his system.

I think too many people join this site, see a system they like and then try to re-invent the wheel --- instead of just following the proven record of that particular system and finding out just how it works. After you have worked with a system and have gotten a harvest from it, then you should do modifications from the perspective of what worked well for you and what didn't.

I don't know how old your seedlings were when you nuked them... lol But I always give my babies atleast 2 weeks of just ph'ed water --- but I am glad to hear that they are going better!

That sucks that you lost some of your equipment, but you should remember the cardinal rule --- TELL NO ONE --- follow that and since no one knows you grow, no one will want to borrow your equipment... lol

As far as your TDscan goes, it is suppose to register the amount of dissolved solids in your nutrient mixture, but if it is as old as you say; I wouldn't trust its readings. Unless you get calibration liquids for it, that is.

Good luck with your grow dude and post some pictures when you get the chance...

:peace:
