Are hash machines worth the money ?

I am looking at the "bubble magic" hash machine. The thing costs $275 which seems overpriced to me (sb like $100) however I do have some trim and bud that needs to get run and I don't want to spend all day making the hash by hand.

Does anyone have experience with these systems or know of a more affordable alternative?

You’re using a cheap ass cake mixer, right?

I think a cake mixer is just as effective as that machine. You still need to run it through bags.

On a somewhat related note, I was going to do a flower hash run, and was wondering if I’d be best off to grind the flower, or is it not necessary?

That machine is a waste of money.
Get a piece of 220 micron screen, a five gallon bucket, and some dry ice. Take your dried trim and put it in the freezer for a couple hours then into the five gallon bucket with some dry ice. You'll have to figure out how to attach the screen over the bucket once the trim and dry ice is in but a roll of tape works in a pinch. Shake up the trim and dry ice for a minute and then turn the bucket upside down over a large piece of glass and shake. The trichomes will freeze and break off of the plant material and then fall through the screen. The longer you sift through the screen the more plant matter you will end up with in the final product. You can use a smaller container but the basic principal is that you freeze the weed, trichomes fall off and go through the screen.
You then press that into small blocks that are very similar to some of the hashish that was available in the seventies and eighties.

I took some sift a while back and made hash similar to how rosin is done with a hair straightener. Instead with a couple 3-4 layers of newspaper wrapped around to reduce temps. End product was like a hash pancake, break off a chunk and it burns for quite a while. It's not even close to full melt. But pretty good sandwiched in the middle of a bowl of weed.
