Are you feeling sad??

It's that time of year again. I hate it. The realization that Summer has truly passed and a long cold and dark Winter is upon us. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) effects many of us each year with slight to serious depression. In some countries like Sweden, they have the fewest daylight hours and the highest number of suicides (mainly young men). They have special light therapy rooms there to emulate the sun! I've just got a grow room!

What do you do to cheer yourself up? Perhaps you enjoy this time of year? It'll be May next year before it gets nice again. The only good thing is the ski slopes and for me putting on huge coats and long boots. Apart from that I'm dying for Summer again! :(

I just jarred up some Tahoe OG, Pre 98 bubba kush, Northern Lights, and LA Chocolate. I should be good for the Winter. That's how I cope.

Made me thinking I should get a trapping license so I can set snares for rabbits. Little guys are everywhere out there

It's the opposite here. There's still some outdoor lurking about but the indoor is on the go again now. Growers stop in August due to heat and holidays so seeds are started in Sept and good weed is ready around now.

Its nice to go into the grow room on a cold dull day. It's all bright and fresh and warmer. I've been in there about 10 times today but I did a tank change.

Seriously though I have major depression and the 'bad' weather does tend to make it worse
Nutritional deficiencies and lack of exercise. I don't get depressed in winter but I get easily irritated and pissed just cause I don't like being cold and think it's bullshit I have to put on multiple shirts and hoodies just to not be freezing. I'd say life would be significantly better in a warmer area with sunlight.

Are you implying that with excercise and nutrition optimized that the sun is not needed for a healthier mental health?

I'm with you growing fixes me or helps dramatically. It's actually humorous at my house in the morning it looks like the sun is coming on line. You hear banks of fans starting then 15 minutes later sequential light firing LOL! I actually jogged around the block at the butt crack of dawn to see how my 'light display' affected my roof frost :) So far I'm golden LOL

No his body is trying to hint it's hungry. One of the first signs of inadequate nutrition is coldness and the inability to heat your own core. But I think he's deaf, to his own body's pleas, because if he was listening, he might cue to that agitated depression.

No. (10 min char) I actually said life would be better with more sunlight. Easier access to the best source of vitamin D3 possible and more comfortable.

Go stand outside in 0-20 degree weather (colder with wind chill) for a while. I'm sure you'll have a different perspective.
