Welcome to my journal!!

Discussion is here...
https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journal-discussion/390282-atoms-3000w-dream-room-discussion.html

I've have been designing this room for about 3 weeks now and it is finally starting to come together so I decided I would keep track of it's progress with a journal. After the wealth of information I've gained from this forum (and a few others) I decided it was finally time to give something back.

The Flowering Room Setup
9'x10'x10' fully insulated and sealed room w/ Extra wide 36" door 150$ (got a deal)
3x 1000 watt "Crop Master" Ballasts 120$ each
3x Adjust-a-Wings with heat spreaders modded w/ 8" Cooltubes 314$ each
3x 8" Hydro Innovations Icebox's attached to 6" Vortex Fans attached to cooltubes 290$ each
Phresh Carbon Filter 6"x24" 85$
Hydro Innovations HydroGEN Pro co2 generator 280$
2x 55 Gallon reservoirs for cooling water 50$ each
1/2 HP Eco chiller 500$
Flotec 1/2 HP Pump, for icebox+generator $128
flotec 1/16 HP Pump for chiller $65
CAP Ebb N Gro System w/ 24 buckets total 545$
45 Pint Dehumidifier 175$
CHHC-4 Environment Controller 500$
1200 BTU Air Conditioner 790$
2x Oscillating Fans 50$ each

My math could be off but looks to be about around $5330 spent. ouch.

I'm still waiting on a lot of things in the mail but have enough to get the room started. The room is framed but still needs insulation and drywall installed. I've been to busy doing absolutely nothing to do it!:bigjoint: This is my 6th year growing but my first attempt at doing hydro, watercooled, or <1000w so I'll be basically starting from scratch again.

As far as strains grow I actually had mothers of all my previously grown strains (DJ Shorts BB, Grape Ape, Hashplant, Raspberry Ice) but unfortunately I went out of town and the babysitter forgot to water, oops. I almost beat his ass as I've been growing the grape ape since my first year growing and was really starting to learn how it grew. Anyways I'll probably be taking a trip to Humboldt to pick up 30 clones from the dispensary, they are the only clubs I've been to where you can see the weed the plant produces before buying the clones.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a successful first harvest.:-P

Here are some pics of the room so far...

So I decided to make a change to my system after talking to a few fellow growers. I'm no longer going all watercooled because in the end I feel it's just to much hassle. After buying the chiller, iceboxes, res, pump, etc. I would have been well over 1500$ into cooling and only receiving 8-9k overall BTU of cooling power. So I canceled my icebox and chiller and went with Grunaire 16 sear 24000 BTU mini-split AC unit and it only cost me 1350 shipped! Also with that much cooling power I decided to drop the cooltube idea. After thinking about it and researching the cooltubes design they all have a small reflective square on the tube that is facing away from the plants to increase efficiency of the tube but I'm sure it would have a negative affect on the adjust a wings light footprint which is the point of the adjust a wing's. Also since I will not be water cooling the room I still need to water cool the hydroGEN (need's waterflow to power on) so I will be hooking that up to houses water lines and running drain to waste. This setup will be much cheaper to run and much cheaper priced than going all watercooled, not to mention more efficient and it has way more cooling power. Have a buddy coming to help me get the drywall up and insulation in on friday but then I'll just be waiting on the rest of the parts. I have everything ordered except the chhc-4, dehumidifier, and oscillating fans. Hoping to have this thing up and running by next friday. Here's some good threads for those of you looking for a new AC PS Sorry they are all on the same line, my enter key is broken lol):http://www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f8/mini-split-efficiency-vs-air-cooled-reflectors-27737/ http://www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f8/4-600s-3-1000s-22756/ http://www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f8/grow-room-c-21422/

wow man cool tubes are expensive in the US, personally i would get cool Hoods as its more even distribution of light, but still nice set up man cant wait to see it finished

 Wow! I wish I had that to spend. Although it is nice to be able to see an expensive setup on here. I'll be following your grow journal to check it out so keep posting pics! :D

Cool man. I run a Grünaire in my home grow as well, 20Seer 12k BTU.

You'll have no problem cooling your room with the 24..

I like he footprint you're workin with. Only thing i would suggest
Is to go with Daystar AC hoods. Theyve been leading the thousand watt
Greenhouse industry for years.

Blow it up!

I haven't seen those daystars, look pretty good for the price though. I wish I would have had the extra cash to get the 20 sear when I bought my AC but I had already blown my original budget out of the water :(. I scanned through your journal when I was doing research on the grunaire and couldn't resist clicking that 24k watt grow, that things tits :blsmoke:. Wish I would have been able to score a commercial license when they were passing them out in my county but they only gave out 10 I think.

Ha, thanks bro, much appreciated. I'm working with an electrician rearranging all the lights....

I have an unbelievably better footprint goin on. The room is just too big
for me to take a picture that really captures the setup.

I'll be checkin in though man I love seeing efficient home setups. Props.

I finally picked out the genetics for my grow, I ordered 5x feminized Next Generation grapegod, 1x feminized Reserva Privada Kandy Kush and from the dispensary I got a nirvanas white rhino clone and a big buddah blue cheese clone. I will probably do something like 18 grapegods in the hydro and the other three in soil just to try them out, just depends on how much space I end up with. I've heard grapegod has an amazing grape flavor and has great yields... plus I'm a sucker for purple.

Hey I am new here sorry if I am busting in improperly. I have a room almost identical to atoms in a garage with 240 and 120 wired. My question is this and I understand that there are fourms and formulas but I have heard too many conflicting things and lets face it I am pretty slow =). I am going to hang the hoods to where there will be a 6" carbon scrubber at the end and running throught the farthest hood from the exhaust fan then making a 180 dgree turn in the ducting to the other 2 hoods thatwill be straight inline and to the exhaust fan. I will then get a fan with a hepafilter on it for the fresh air to come in. My average temp in garage in winter is 60 degrees and 50% humidity in the summer day its 75 degrees humidity constant at 50 pretty much ( San Diego elevation 250 above sea level) Please any tips I will truely appreciate.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you actually asked a question in that last post did you, or were you just asking for advice>
