Pretty sure purple is just a color, not a strain. There are many "purple" strains out there indica and sativa. GDP might be worth the wait, one if the best i've smoked and it looks almost black with bright orange stigmas. Very beautiful. but if you can't get a male is it worth it?

Purple coloring is a result of the plant's exposure to colder temperatures.
There are a couple of strains out there that are truly purple but they are only used for coloring and are not as potent.
A very cool hybrid that can have purple leaves is TGA Querkle. It's also ridiculously strong.

What is going on with GDP, is it clone only or what? It's been so hard to find.

GDP isnt up on attitude, I have to order from attitude. I guess the ones I was looking at the closest was TGA subcool purple an I dont know rather it not be Sativa as I dont want 8ft. plants.

I ended up going with the Purple Wreck from Reserva Privada. Any thoughts on this strain?

Grew out RP Purple wreck the season before last. Was some pretty good stuff. The biggest thing to note was the amt. of trichs that developed late in bud. It was literally covered in em. Every leaf/bud had frost all over it. Some of the frostiest bud I've ever grown!
Never turned purple for me tho :(

I have two G13 'Blueberry Gum' 5weeks into bloom. Very healthy dark green plants in veg(4weeks). Excessivley leafy, i pruned. They smell.....aww to good to describe. The resin smells sharply sweet, like synthetic berry flavour but more complex. It is Truely intoxicating, when cured only Gawd knows how nice it will smell. I have two extremely varied phenos. One stretched to double the size of the other in the first 3weeks of 12/12. So I'm left with a short, squat super indica that looks to be a lowish yielder at this point, and a full on hybrid with at least an extra 3 nodes in it's main cola that promises more yield. Branching on both is inconsistent with only a few weighty branches. The more Indica Pheno has the better branching. Large amounts of resin started appearing in week 3 and now the buds are very frosty at quite an early stage. At 5 weeks I have about 80% milky and almost no red hairs. 3weeks left perhaps.
Large parts of the plants have gone purple, it started with the lower fan leaves and is now spreading. The taller hybrid looking pheno has most of its big fan leaves going dark indigo, yet it has not reached the main cola. The Indica Dom pheno has it's main cola purpling aswell. I'v had night temps of 48-50ish due to harsh cold nights.
I've yet to sample a smoke so that will be the real test, looks like its shaping up to be top-notch or close though.
