ok, so im getting that everyone thinks that autos should have shown sex by day 27, given that mine haven't what should i consider doing?

Im on 18/6 light cycle.

600whps/140xCFL

Whatever the suggestion, i will allow them to go through till the 30th, but if nothing by then i will take some steps...
From what I have read, 20/4 is the optimum light cycle throughout. So over 27 days they did not receive 54 hours, which is over 2 days of light. How much that played in, is hard to say. Mine went for over 60 days of 18/6 (before I learned I should have been at 20/4). I finally forced them at 12/12 and it took 8-10 days to show. hth

Actually a true auto will flower under any light schedule so if yours didn't flower under 18/6 it wouldn't have flowered under 20/4.

If my autos don't show sex by 30 days I flip to 12/12 and keep it there for the rest of the grow...if you flip back to 18/6 or 20/4 they will revert back to veg...I found this out the hard way!!!!

K21701 I am 90+ days into a Bubble X Lowryder #2 (seeds purchased privately- clearly not stable). About a month ago I gave up and flipped. I have numerous bud sites, but no colas or big buds yet. Probably another month to go. hth

Here is my Bubblelicious auto which I had to force to flower by flipping to 12/12..she was germed on 11/30 and will finally be finished by weeks end. I kept her on 12/12 for the remainder of the grow and she is going to be an awesome yield!!

18/6 or 20/4 even 24/ 0 are what autos need to thrive, but this wont change your autos life cycle, they will flower at 12/12 but they would be small ! if you had to force them to flower at 12/12 they wer'nt real autos . ive done well with 18/6 and 20/4,

Amen to THAT!! K21701...I have found from my experience that even stable genetics will still tend to show variable characteristics of it's genetic make-up. I have Himalayan Blue Diesel and Onyx running side by side and there are a couple of plants(of both) that have the diesel shape and colors and and others that don't even look like the same kinda plant. Some that have a dense central cola from budding and others of each that have a completely different flower pattern...one is squat dense and tight the other stretches more spear-like and is more hairy (OF BOTH) ...even the blueish hues are on both and Onyx doesn't have any blue or purple mentioned by the breeder.
Some that are having slow show on flowering ..well it's possible to be the one with the dud but more likely that the sativa characteristics are coming to the front.... what kinda strain make up do you have?
...Overall Short Stuff and Dj Short have been working these for years...as well as Lowryder...never tried them but they seem like bob dylan ya know (from what I hear) they came up with a great mix(wrote good songs) but other people seem to have taken it to the next level (like Jimi Hendrix did with Dylan's songs) I didn't order from Attitude this last time but they gave these 2 from short stuff 5 leaves...so...they had to have had less bad reviews than most IMO. Here's a couple of pics of my auto sea of green.....believe it or not they seem to be thriving ..EVERYBODY POKE SOME SMOT Ya'll here"s some pics of mine day 30 or so

I say again to you sir bravo...bravo. That is a nice looking patch of green. I have noticed the wild pheno variations in the strains too. I believe that it is also a combination of genetic variation and growing method. Differences in light spectrum and intensity, nutrients, growing medium, temperatures and hundreds of other thing effect the growth patterns, appearance, taste, smell, and most importantly the buzz. I have had seeds from the same plant grow into 3 or 4 different looking beasts all together in the same conditions.

Update on pics u guys, embarrassed because the last two growers appear to know what they're doing. :) So far I'm sure temps to high, I dont have enough light, not enough space, lack of nutes list goes on..lol These are two Afghan Kush Ryder planted and transplanted at same time. 5 weeks into flowering. How long you guys?? The buds dont look all that big althought when I look under the very bottom of when the bud begins they are more of a deep green and have begun to swell a lot. Appear also to be more of a deep nicer green with deeper tricromes. The taller one in the pics below branched out weird after transplanting which seems to be good because it seems to have more bud growing on it but is taking longer. I had no problems with the floweirng (for all the skeptics) flowering was very noticeable by the 3rd week. Doesn't look like must stretching happened..but what do I know...?? 2nd Grow.

The pics I posted were a week ago so...week 1 they have not only doubled in size but also in flower sites.. A.N. BUD BLOOD IS WORTH EVERY PENNY...it is bud ignitor ...plus so much more...I have never tried bud ignightor...definitely time for a showdown next time.
Mikehack...dude if your getting that yellow maybe you should consider showering them with a very mild nutrient solution(love)..or just water... they are ladies ya know..lol..without those leaves your plant is not getting the most bang for the buck...leaves are the only absorption of light and without healthy leaves you cannot have heafty happy girl...go for the double D's dont settle for c's lol...just an idea another little helper is a homemade CO2 generator...
-Gallon jug
-5 cups of sugar
-a couple of activated yeast packets
- a few feet of 1/4" air-hose
melt the sugar with a little warm water ...add the yeast ....fill it about 3/4 full ....poke a hole in the lid push the air hose through..run it above your plants..CO2 is heavier than air...
And please try the spray bottle shower every few hours with at least water....helps more than you may think..just think of the rain forest and how healthy vegetation is there I hope it helps I too am new to indoor but I have grown outside for years and plants just need certain things..but like a woman she wont tell you and you probably wont find out till it gets bad enough to show...in the eternal words of Dylan.."everybody lets go get stoned"

they are no different than photoperiod seeds in that regard. i would be happy you got 4/5 and just keep your head up pullin for the 5th. sounds like you got a mini jungle growing in the near future
