Now one thing to remember. The strain will respond better if it is equatorial in nature. A Sativa. That's where earth uvb light is the strongest, and where the plants have developed the ability to produce more potency from exposure to uvb. Won't get near the results for an Indica....you will get some results..but not as much.

They got on you about your electrical cords on your grow. did you see that Tower of Power outlet?

cool man I have an land-race sativa strain from Laos arjans haze #3 I want to experiment with. however I used to use LED panels in combination with 1000w hps and supposedly the LED panels were suppose to have UVB. Any way I quit using the LED's for a multitude of reasons but I haven't noticed any effect on potency or frostiness just bigger fatter buds. I recently started dialing back my digital ballast in the last 2 weeks of flower to accomodate for the slowing of the plants metabolism. 100%,75% and the last week 50% I think they like it and the resin seems to be sticker probably due to less heat and makes better bubble hash.

I am willing to bet if you buried Timmahh in your pots your plants would grow turds sooooooooo BIG that you would not be able to stake them off.

I grew for about 2 years using an ebb and flow table/reservoir system. I agree that the yield is better, but I think you sacrifice taste. That, and you're limited to using salts.

The main reason I stopped the hydro method was due to the humidity. I had a tough time keeping my humidity in check with 160 gallons of standing water in my grow. I prefer the simplicity, and taste of growing in soil.

I have to agree with ur statement there, maybe its just in my head but I believe that I can taste a difference in my smoke if its hydro vs soil grown. Also there was someone talkin bout HID being alot better than cfls and I don't thing that's wrong but for the price ya cant always beat cfls. But what I wanted to ask was watcha think bout LED vs HID. A lot of talk is regarding lumens output and such, but from what I've read a LED can be very effective especially for ppl tryin to hid a small grow in a cab or sumptin and the lumens are nowhere near the output of a HID light and nowhere near the heat output. I think it was sumptin bout LED light not puttin out any UV or IR light I think. Ohh but only thing is LED's can be expensive as like 180w LED around $600

i dont call them secrets but rather observation of natural process i recreate what i see. a far red spectrum period at the begining and end of 12/12 lighting(for like an hour) will shorten flowering time.

UVb will increase potency

and a constant contact with nutrients organic slow feed and fast feed and chemical fast feed, dont really recommend the 1000% organic thing unless your in 5gal pots or bigger.

spraying with coconut milk will increase the size of the buds but slow down the flowering time (not in nature i know but organic)

the biggest game changers for me though was proper use of nitrogen fixing bacteria and mychorazai fungi and regulating their populations(got too kill some off from time to time) and CO2

Yeah its called super cropping, you don't totally snap it off u bend it until ur able to break the fibers inside enough to bend the limb its similar to LST where it allows you to grow a plant with multiple tops, although they still aren't quite the same as the main cola or colas.

If you twist the stalk versus just pinching and bending you get the same results without the broken stem and exposing the core of the branch. You can also do it between every node up the stem. This works wonders.

tip 2... add olivias cloning solution during flowering at half or third strength.

As suggested by longroot on another thread.

I am glad that most of you are here and thanks for debating the shit out of this topic. Lets start a new thread on ways we've found to increase yield. That should be a good one.

oh ya. Plus rep for anyone that helps me double my yield. lol.

Easiest and best way to double your yield is to double the number of plants grown, silly!!! You don't have to rep me, a simple thanx will suffice!! :bigjoint:

true. More plants more yeild
I think that more wattage = more yield, People pull off just as much from a few plants than others pull off of their whole garden. You want lumens per square inch. SoG and SCRoG methods prove this. Also, if you have a larger plant when you go into flowering, it will yield more than a smaller plant. Similarly if you have a garden of large plants, they will yield more than a garden of small plants. Obviously 2 plants will yield more than 1 plant of the same strain and size (if your genetics are the same) but just simply saying "2 plants are better than one" is not true without more information. At least that's what i think, feel free to say I'm wrong, but I have done some experimenting and read a lot about others' experiments. If you want to double your yield, grow the tallest trees possible, and get lights all around that baby, if you only have a light on the top, lollipop and get fatter, more potent buds.

Good genetics seems to be the first place to start. Lot's of good tips here. cheers!

it's true.

either i start to lollipop or find an electrician who can enter and help me fix the room.

NEED MOAR WATTS!
