Fair? I mean, just look at the differences in the two separate investigations. Surely, Garland could find more dirt on Biden than just that. What about Hunter Biden's laptop? What about Biden calling MAGA Republicans Fascists? What about how Democrats stole an election from Trump? He's under investigation for what in Hillary's case amounted to -- at the most -- a disciplinary letter. How can that be fair?

And then there is Trump, poor old picked upon and witch-hunted Trump who was only president so that he could line his own pockets like any son of a rich man would do. He's facing years in prison for what he did with the documents. Not to mention being charged under the Insurrection Act and held accountable for conspiring to overthrow our government. How can that be fair?

Garland named former Justice Department official Robert Hur to conduct the high-profile inquiry after the White House confirmed that Biden's private attorneys found "a small number" of materials with classified markings both in storage in Biden's Wilmington, Del., garage and in an adjacent room as well as in a locked closet at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C. The attorneys said in both cases they turned over the Obama-Biden administration-era records to the National Archives.
The Justice Department said Hur is assigned to probe "possible unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or other records."

What Jack Smith will — and won’t — be investigating
Smith is being given charge of two important investigations.
The first investigation, Garland said, is “the investigation into whether any person or entity unlawfully interfered with the transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election, or with the certification of the Electoral College vote held on or about January 6, 2021.”
Translation: This is about whether Trump or people close to him broke laws in their effort to overturn Biden’s election win.

The second probe assigned to Smith is “the ongoing investigation involving classified documents and other presidential records, as well as the possible obstruction of that investigation,” Garland said.
This is the probe into whether Trump improperly brought classified documents to his Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, or elsewhere, but note the reference to possible obstruction too. Bloomberg’s Chris Strohm reported in October that some DOJ prosecutors believe there is sufficient evidence to charge Trump with obstruction, apparently due to his lack of candor on whether he had returned all the documents in his possession.

I know there are two presidents who have been found in possession of classified documents and that is worrying. Also how did the national archives know what Donald Trump had by looking at their meticulous record keeping and yetthey somehow didn't know these were missing?

In a full-circle moment, that one was summitted by Hillary.
Yeah, Sir Edmund "Bubba" Hillary, taking the
full circle to some kind of tangential comet tail.

Incidentally, i misread "summited" as "submitted". o_O
Oh, and I ain't been stoned for like 4 months yet. :sigh:

There is a thread about the Mar-a-Lago search. I believe the question of how they knew to obtain the warrant was extensively discussed in the early pages. You should find answers, and an indication of the massive disproportion between the two cases, there.

I have no idea how Sir Edmund is even remotely a bubba, which to me conveys unsophistication. It’s as unexpected to me as making a joke about the late Queen’s physical attributes.

I know there are some differences in each case. But I also believe I said both presidents mishandled documents. I do not believe I said either one is more guilty than the other? They are both guilty in my opinion. The law does not read that you are only guilty if you take more than a certain number of documents.

As my diminished mental functions recall: it was The National Archives requesting the return of removed documents. All of which were denied and obstructed in their denial by your frump buddy.

The fact that you haven’t acknowledged that, no matter how bad it is for Biden, what That Man did is hugely worse … well, it puts paid to your claim of seeking fairness. It is like describing a picture containing a rowboat and CVN George Bush as showing “two watercraft”.

I didn't mention it because under the law a person either mishandled classified documents or they don't! No grey area or extenuating circumstances apply.

It is not the charged at fault. It is the accusers and subjection to standing laws that are the problem. And this is furthered by your tolerance as you lust to get rich for nothing as your cell AI suggests.

Is that true? Did the national archives know all of what Trump held at Mar a Lago? All I've read is they knew Trump had the letter from Kim Jong Un because Trump said he had it.

All I can say is if the national archives does not keep better track of classified documents I will be able to buy some off of them on eBay.

But the law does require intent to be guilty. We know tRump's intent as he told the world. Joe, well not so much. We shall see.
