That room is a mansion compared to what I rock, but nonetheless you need to answer a few questions for yourself:
1. How much do you want/need to grow? A room that size is commercial. I use 250W for 6 square feet you have over 20 times that.
2. Can you do construction where this room is (rented or owned), i.e.- to run a perpetual cycle in that room you will need separate spaces with no light leak if you are doing veg and flower in the same room there will be light leak unless there are walls or barriers.
3. Can you handle the responsibility of never letting anyone in that room and fielding questions about why it is always locked and sounds like a fan store behind the door, lol.

If you are down with those questions I would say that a 12x12 room could sustain a great amount of flowering clones under a few 1000+watt HID lights and some serious ventilation and scrubbing systems. In the end that is a large space and will suck a lot of power to use it correctly. You would also need dedicated circuits if you were going to go big in that room. If you are a noob it might be a lot to get involved with at the start. You can always start small with a 400 or 600 system hanging in the room directly over the plants and then build a little veg/mother chamber with CFL's and then get bigger as your skill and wallet grow.

Just my 2 cents,
Best of luck!!

basically from what I understand... In that size room doing a perpetual grow (sog, scrog, or otherwise) you could harvest in excess of 5 pounds every two weeks. Just take that into perspective .. I have a 14x20x8 room and am only using 3x14x8 of it and once in motion I hope to harvest min 1/4lbs per 2 weeks. Like the others said to properly use a room of that size the power will increase greatly. dedicated breakers etc. I run 2 400w mh and a small heater and power bill went from $75/monthh to $125/month.

You are looking at min 4-6 1000w hps to properly light that room which costs alot of muhla regardless my best advice is to look up Growing Marijuana Indoors on www.youtube.com this is an extensive overlay of a room around the same size... I learned much from this video very imformative

Thanx guys. I was thinking about building within the room like one of you said. not really aiming for 5 pounds but want to do sog to get more harvest. Just to go thru the process more. What about light movers. would that help with power issues. Again thanx for all the advice

I really like the idea of the light mover for my mother/veg/clone room if i could use 1 400w mh for all that I would be able to run a 1000w hps for flowering im looking into making my own. this could help but even still you would need 4 1000w hps which is still large ....... did you check out How to Grow Marijuana Indoors on www.youtube.com ???

I been thinking about it alot and i think im gonna split the room and do half veg for clones and mothers. maybe with cfls for the small clone and maybe 400w mh for the mothers. and two 4x4 flowering trays under 600w hps each. does this sound good or what.

You need to keep in mind that it is best to enclose your grow spaces. If I was to use a 400w mh for veg I would make one area 5x5. Inside that cabinet near the top I would make a shelf the perfect size for an areo cloner or however you are cloning with some cfls above. all this needs to be vented properly of course. Then for your flowering room 2 600w hps would be quite nice in a 4x12 area. just remember that the more open space between lights, plants, walls/reflective material the less light gets to your plants/budS!!!!!! this is why I say to build a suitably sized area for your light setup.

thanks jon. I was wondering would all that space hurt my light. Now if i decide to spli the room and leave a lil hall way between veg and flower. could i open the window thats in the middle of the room were the lil hallway would be and vent air in and out of the lil hall way. Does that make since to anybody. I apreciate all the advice. all is welcome.

yes the ideal way to vent air is out a slightly open window... any other way looks suspicious on IR sensors this technique the ppl using the IR will think you leave that window open a bit thats all... If you would just watch that video on www.youtube.com !!!! lol it will show you how to make a perfect window vent setup that doesnt leak light. Its basically a box that fits into the window sill perfectly with a black liner to block light. A lil more complex than that but just check it out.... you will need to mod their design a bit cuz your window is prob smaller and you will need 2 vents 1 for veg room and one for flowering. anyway i gotta go to work........
