12 4ft. EB-Series strips @1050mA(48vf) = ~605w net/645w total
159lm/w @700mA, assuming LER for 3500°k is 320-330lm/w, effiency is ~48%
@1050mA effiecy is lower probably 3%, so 45%.
605w x 0,45% = ~270PAR/w
Assuming again these LED's have a similar QER as the Vero Series(same phosphors?) we can use a value between 4,65 and 4,8μMol/j, so 270PAR/w x 4,7μMol =1270μMol/s PPF.
Your 5' x 5' should be ~1,5m x 1,5m, so ~2,25m²
1270μMol/s : 2,25m² = 564μMol/s/2,25m²
But there is always a wall loss of 10-20%, so I would say you will get ~500μMol/s of additional light from these strips.
My goal would be to use the strips to get an even PAR map from corner to corner with no hotspot in the middle.

awesome thanks muchly, i will play around with them in different spots and see how i can go getting it as even spread as possible.

is there a big difference in heat between running these strips at 700ma and 1050ma? Would 8 strips at 700ma be as hot as 6 strips at 1050ma?

hey guys im about to head into bunnings and buy some ALU sheet to attach these to. before i do though what spacing would you reccommend between the strips? using 6 strips per board, connected to a sheet of alu.

edit: for those not following im using the long EB strips (1m long)

I have mine 2" apart. That's in a 24x48 inch space.

I literally finished building this today. I am using the 560mm strips though. I spaced mine closer together as you move towards the outside. Copied the dude on the other thread who par mapped it out. I just did it by eye.

Perfect was just about to ask how to wire these since I see 2 sets of connections each board lol. So that's just series accross the top and its fine? Yours is basically the same as how I'm doing mine but I could only find 900mm x 600mm x 0.5mm ALU sheet so gonna have a hit hanging off the ends but should be fine.

Yep series at either end. I dont see a problem with a bit of overhang should be sweet.

Not sure of your tent size @rayuki , but if it takes up as much of the
ceiling in your tent as it does of mine, how is it affecting your circulation?
My original idea was a large perforated sheet for airflow and easy mounting
of the strips through the perforations. Couldn't find what I wanted in surplus.

Havnt managed to get this in the tent yet, and to honest I doubt I'm gonna get it in there it's pretty cramped enough as it is. Might keep these for outside the tent or in the closet (if it even fits lol)

Man im having such a blonde moment here how do these bridgelux connectors work are they like wagos and I have to lift the tab up and put the cable in? Cause can't figure the little bastards out for the life of me

No just push the wire in. You only need to mess with the connector when taking the wire out. If you need to do that grab a pen and push lightly on the indent on the connectors while gently pulling your wire out.

Man I must just have shit wire then I got it from cutter for led connections but it seems awful thin and is not doing jack shit when I push it in. Just comes straight back out lol

Dont strip the wire too much, just a few mm. Then hold it as close to the end as you can and push it in and you will feel it when it slots in.

Nah man thats the same wire I used, left over from my cob builds, its 18 AWG its perfect. The key is only strip a small amount. The push in connectors are awesome once you get the hang of em.

Just realised the stuff I got from cutter is 24awg. I can't even strip it its that thin lol. I'll find some thicker shit

Yeah found some 18 heavy shit I had from my speakers its going in much easier with this. I thought i was going crazy with that thin shit thinking how the fuck it could be so difficult and I've worked with cables and shit my whole life with computers lol
