Building a silent indoor tent (sketch included), need help with ducting and setup!

Hello, decided to ask here if people could give some good ideas how to plan air conditioning right to achieve silent opetaration (trying to as far below as i can from 40dB). I'm currently building a 4x4 tent setup right near my bed, so it really has to be even quieter than the the average setup.

I drew a fast sketch as i plan to do it, i was planning to put the carbon filter, silencer and the fan in the middle of my tent in series and draw out insulated ducting behind my couch (so one downwards turn and then a slow 90* turn to left) with about 3 meters of insulated ducting. I don't have a silencer yet but i'm seriously concidering getting one since they seem to work. You can also insulate the silencer itself for added beneficts i guess!

In one of my brevious tests with the fan, the carbon filter and insulated ducting, the carbon filter makes tons of noise installed right next to my fan, so it's maybe a good plan to put the silencer between the fan and the carbon filter (in case i go buy the silencer)

Q1: Would you know any tips to recude the sound airflow makes when it comes out of the ducting, of course the airflow will make even more sound if you ever need to crank up that fan.

Q2: Should i get bigger 15cm (5.9") insulated ducting instead of 12.5cm (4.9") to reduce noise? My fan is 12.5cm (4.9"), dunno if that matters. In my own head bigger ducting could also help with air pressure too if i haven't undestoond it wrong (loo lazy to check).

After the initial setup (fan, silencer, carbon filter and the ducting in place) i plan to wrap all parts (except the carbon filter) with insulated ducting and (sound) foam to make them as quiet as possible.

If this plan doesn't work and the fan itself would make unbearable amouns of sound, i would probably need to bring it outside the tent and seal it in a wooden box or something. That's another beast itself, no idea how would i design and mount that boxed fan outside of the tent.

PS: I would love to see people sharing their own setups and tell me what works for you! There must be tons of different solutions people have come up with. I'm all ears! I've been trying to stalk different setups, but most of them aren't that concerned with sounds when you look at youtubers and bigger growers that post most of the content. I haven't seen many setups with sound taken into account, and that's a HUGE cap of content that could be filled with more experienced people working with indoor gardens and especially with sound proofing experience.

Here's my stoner paint sketch (top view ofc.) to vizualize what's going on, the idea should be pretty simple: my tent setup.png

Buy a fan speed controller and turn it down til your satisfied with the noise and the smell control.
I already have a fan speed controller (as seen in the picture) and have tried different speed settings, that just doesn't magically remove all noise.

probably because you still hear the air moving in that noisy duct

Well I have a 10 inch vortex running at 35 volts on a variac and I can't hear it at all. Good bearings in the blower and smooth ductwork.

Very quiet, on all but the highest setting of 10, compared to others fans. Includes smart controller. Lightweight and compact. Best bang for buck.

Ducting noise. Try to use smooth metal ducting. Fewer bends etc. Insulate as you describe. Buy or build an inline silencer.
AC infinity fans are pretty expensive here in the EU (or shipped overseas), fast check placed some cheaper units at nearly $230. So i'm ready to use much cheaper methods to quieter down my already not that crazy loud inline fan. I could get it run just between 40-50dB with my test setup based on speed and distance, and i'm certain i can bring down that number much more with a smart setup.

Also is there videos/proof of how quiet those fans really are? Like some real experiments with and without ducting, filters etc? I would like to compare if it would even be worst investing in one. I don't really care about the extra functions.

Smooth metal ducting, can you show what you mean? Well there's only two bends i would have to make, so i think it would go pretty smoothly because the bends are really gentle (down and left with a big arc)

Go to the hardware store and go to where the HVAC stuff is like furnace filters and ask the guy that works there where the galvanized snap seam ductwork is. It will be flat and you curl it up and snap the seams. They have adjustable elbows and all that as well.

Go big on everything, ducting and fan and filter and turn it down.
You can double up on insulated duct, duct in a duct. Or rigid smooth duct with insulated duct slid over it.

Airflow is the easiest noise to cut down.

No point insulating and using silencers if you don't go big on everything though.

I would be more worried about the circulation fans.

I can link you a fan in EU thats 23db on full if you want.
Best thing I ever bought.

Also know that cheap speed controllers make the motor groan.
In my case the motor "groaning" starts happening pretty much when the fan is running at really low speed, so that shouldn't even make any difference. I tested it with different speeds and it should be doing it's job just fine.

I was planning to go big in the first place and insulate the whole dang thing, even insulate all the insulated ducting going outside of the tent.. But still wondering if there's ways to muffle the sound coming out of the end. I think i saw someone posting a weird looking PCP? pipe thing where someone had drilled tons of holes on top of the pipe, and that pipe was attached on the ducting that was coming out of the house. It reminded me of a gun with a silencer, dunno if it worked tho!

Is there any demonstations or comparisons of this versus your typical insulated ducting? What about the price and size?
