its virtualy impossible to say, I'd say virtualy all these cacti and torches are hybrids of similar types. If you get realy into cacti you can get specific seeds from know parents, say like juuls' scop.

would it be worth running an extraction on? in your opinion of course.
or even tea perhaps? basically ill be blunt, judging by the pics would
you say that you think it is a mescaline cotaining cactus?

Imma say yes!
it looks very much like a pedro/torch much more the pedro side, there are hundreds of hybrids and probably some unknowns...
worst case scenario is you eat some inactive bitter cacti soup. with extraction i guess you would just end up with nothing if it wasn't mescaline containing..

where was it grown?

looks really really close to me, the spine patterns even match the spine patterns in the one anc posted, they are pretty dark spines but i dont think that alone would be the deciding factor, they look legit to me.

theey have been extremely neglected for the past few years and im saving a couple and hopefully extracting the rest.
but perhaps the ill growing conditions could play a role in the discolored spines?

They look magic to me. If in fact they have been neglected.. that will most certainly be to your advantage :D They'll produce more mesc as a defense mechanism.

oh that is what i like to hear =)
but they have definately been neglected
and in the wrong soil, and too much sun,
and the have been fallen into several times..
the list goes on and on

good call guys ill be trying that then.
any tips on storing cuttings for later use?
or for storing tea after its made for later use?

For use later on down the road, you should store your cuttings somewhere dark, dry and cool for at least a growing season (spring, summer) to bring about the best results. This is neglect in its purest ;) It seems mean and callous, but you're simply just giving it a helping hand on its path to secreting its life potion. Prepearing mescaline is the Trich's lot in life. It knows its fate and accepts it. And Loves you for it :D

As for storing tea, I've heard freezing is the only way to go. It will go bad eventually otherwise. Though the mescaline will not, so even if your tea rots, you could still perform an extraction.
My advice: if you're going to make a very large batch, do an extraction. Like ANC says, tea is 90% of an extraction.
