hey people. new guy here (been reading since october/november).

started 11 bagseeds indoors in large dunkin donuts cups and large yogurt containers and moved them outside after germination (bringing em inside when temps dropped below 40 or so). growth has been fairly slow due to cloudy/overcast weather outside and low night time temps, usually around the high 40's or 50's. most of the seedlings are just beginning to develop their 3rd set of leaves and looking alright, despite very small mushroom growth in 2 of the cups (plucked em both). I'll water em a bit less so the soil dries out.

I found a nice small clearing where I want to transplant probably half of them. It's a clearing for a small plot of land that's for sale....

there's an area of fairly dense, 3-4 foot-high pine trees growing and i dug a few holes already and plan to transplant within the next week. my only concern is the pine trees, as their leaves are acidic.

I'll be adding my own soil/horse compost/perlite to the holes, but do you think thats enough, or should I be concerned about the pine needles causing the soil to become acidic when they begin to fall around october?

Also, how deep/wide should the holes be?

hanks everyone
