Can I feed my girls my Lab's poop?

I'm a little bored...LOL nothing on t.v. and i just got to thinking...if my girls need potassium and phosphorus...can't I give them some bananas and poop? I know this sounds dumb...but really! I mean i'm always reading about nute burns and overfeeding and on and on...I've been a successful gardner (roses, perrinials, herbs, landscaping) for more than 20 years...and just never had a plant as picky as these girls. So in the interest of their health...poop and bananas? If this thread don't interest you...i'll probably have another one soon...i'm fricking BORED! LMAO

i know bananas are also a good source of sugar for the microbes in the soil. you may want to dilute all of it somehow. i wouldnt do both at the same time either.

I've never heard of anyone using dog poo... and on that note, if you wanna buy some, my pitbull is a poo factory.

maybe for making a beneficial tea it would work, but I really don't know

Depends on what the dog is eating I suppose. If it is dog chow, i would say no lol.

well normally she gets Iams...but i been broke lately so it's been the cheap stuff...probly right about poor quality poo! LOL I getting worried cause it's getting close I know and the girls are a little unhappy i think. bottom fan leaves are turning kinda yellow and it's probly nutes but no money! i don't want to use what i been using cause it's 10-20-10 and i know they just need some poop and bananas! just hang in there couple more weeks girls!!!!

the only way i would suggest using any poop is if you compost it for a year minimum. wouldn't suggest dog poop though.

well she leaves plenty out in the yard...would THAT be decomposed enough? LMAO i mean there's ALOT out there!

you know a friend told me it would be better to use bat poo...well i got them too! any ideas how to find out where they live? i got no clue where they come from! but they fly around in my trees every evening so i know there here somewhere!

needs to have been processed by micro organisms is what it comes down to. or chemically.

a good compost pile is different than your dog's poop laying about in the yard. the way a compost pile works is through some voodoo about anaerobic organisms and heat and whatnot. i don't know much about composting, but you need to at least turn the contents of the compost pile every so often, add new materials in, balance out the green and brown contents, etc. i do a lackluster compost pile every year and spread it over my pumpkin patch since i don't eat my pumpkins.

take no chances with fresh poop.

you cud throw it in the compost pile. But yuck...If i see dog poo near my compost pile i chuck it with the shovel.

my dog has chosen a few very special corners to poop in without me having to train him to do it. he even chose the very furthest part of the yard where no veggies grow, just a choisya and a japanese maple. such a good boy.

you're lucky. My dog used to steal eggplant and squash outta the garden and eat em. I also caught the lil bastard peeing in the garden a couple times
