I've used Cyco a lot myself. I thought I would chime in. When using potting soil, I always wait till the top start to get that light green color showing they are starting to burn down what's available in the soil. I would look at the corresponding week on the Cyco chart and add 1/2 strength feed. Gradually up it over the next few weeks.
Cyco XL can be used in the middle of veg and weeks 3,4,5 in flower. Also when in flowering, you start out with the potash until the last three weeks of flowering. Give them a shot of plain water before starting swell. You do not use potash and swell at the same time.
