Just trying to put these people on blast. 2 people we know: david bragg in the color photo, a known medical marijuana thief out of China, Maine. And bobby tucker out of Bingham, Maine, (in the hoodie, and was caught) These people aren't just growing for cash or getting high, its legit medicine they steal.
Feel free to continue this post if you have any pics of thieves out of Maine.

i don't like the idea of guard dogs. a couple of pounds of poisoned hamburger will take out all but the BEST trained dogs.
then you have stolen weed and dead dogs.
i've found that a cooler of beer, a case of ball ammo, and a 30.06 with a night vision scope works way better than dogs.
know anyone that raises pigs? way better than a chipper and a swamp, don't have to wash a pig, and as far as i know, they can't dredge a pig

seriously, a few solar powered deer cameras, a few motion alarms, and a 16 gauge full of rocksalt will do the job without getting your dog killed.
A "firearm" will also get you fed time even if your completely legal.. Sadly guns and cannabis don't go to well together right now where it is completely illegal under federal level. Get the right breed of dog and they won't accept anything from anyone they don't know.. Or go pay 15k for a well trained guard dog that knows not to accept anything from strangers. Everybody's gotta make their own path though.

i have a bow i can kill turkey with at 20 yds, a sling shot i can kill rabbits with at 15 yds, and a blowgun i can nail a squirrel to a tree with (i don't, but i could)...which won't get me fed time?

No point having a dog killed or severally hurting someone over a plant.

A few trip wires at different heights connected to flare guns should work. Nothing says "HEY, IM OVER HEAR!!" like a flare.

landmines....i'd go with landmines....
in all reality, if you're growing legally, i'd look very carefully into what the law allows in your area, as far as personal protection and repelling trespassers.
if you're growing illegally, you're already fucked, so i figure anything nonlethal you want to throw at them is fair game, snares, triplines, spring traps, deadfalls....

assholes like that are what make me afraid of growing outdoors even though i live in a mostly legal state. at least it takes them a little more effort if they want to get to my indoor spaces.

OK but lets keep it real though, nobodies tossin' grenades out our windows at trespassers...I do like the idea of using trip wire or motion detector set to an inside alarm or cell phone app. A pressure switch around the perimeter of your patch wired to a remote alarm would also work well if your around to defend your property. CCTV with motion detection works well also, I have night owl motion cameras and they do their job pretty well. THE BEST option however; is to post up on firewatch ready and waiting. I advise wearing dark clothes and gloves to remain incognito and for protection. Stack up on redbull or coffee, grab a flashlight and arm yourselves at your own discretion. Zip Ties work excellent for a make-shift pair of handcuffs until you decide what you wanna do with the intruder.
Here are some more thieves in the same area of Maine as original post.
