-started with about 10 sprouts, picked the best 3.
-using 9 23w cfls (23 is the highest lowes carries :( ) 6 of the 9 are 6500k and the other 3 are 3000k
- they were planted on Jan 27 or 28

here's one of the fellas on the 9th of Feb

here's all 3 as of today - - the back 2 are receiving the most light...the one up front was my weakest of the 3, so he's struggling, but really making progress lately

here's a close up of the top of the one receiving the least light. i thought the strings were some form of flowering, but they turned out to just be long skinny parts of the new leaves

last one... here's a close up of the stalk of the back left plant... i think it's still too early to determine the sex :(

Nice hairs on the stem on the last pick very beautiful man keep it up
thanks man...the macro setting on my camera takes nice upclose shots

this grow just goes to show the haters how easy it really is to grow with cfls... after all its just a plant... give it some soil, light, water, and it'll grow. i've put in minimal effort and theyre growing like crazy

ok ic-im in r&d stages. drawn to the cfls. was think of goin with 4 23w 2 22w and 2 15w all cool white(roughly 10-11k) for veggin about 30-45 days 24/0.By your count i should look to go 3x the lumens with maybe warm lites??? or can i stick w/ the cool whites?

i dont exactly know the differences between all the "cool" "soft" "warm" etc bulbs... just go by the kelvin temperatures (i have seen 6500, 5000, 3000, and 2700 bulbs) 6500k bulbs are best for vegging, and 2700 are best for flowering. as for watts, get the most you can. the lowes near me only carried up to 23w cfls, so thats all i got.

only working with 3 right now, and that might get narrowed down to 2 soon. i made a new lighting rig today so i'll be able to adjust the heights, but it's making it harder for me to be able to get enough light to the 3rd and weakest plant... your space seems like enough for 2, maybe 3 plants.... if you have any spare 5 gallon buckets just see how many comfortably fit in that space

damn..didnt think about height clearance with 5 gal buckets. not a big concern, but damn.

the 6500k is the light temperature, not lumens. each individual bulb will have its own temperature. you want all bulbs to be 6500 for vegetative stage. you do not add these numbers up. (for example, get a 23w 6500k bulb.)

that's probably enough lighting to grow 2 plants all the way through... i also started with about 10 sprouts and had to get rid of all but 3 of them. i just picked the healthiest looking ones and hoped for the best
