yeagh thats what i thought tht ur other strain is not auto and you'll be forced to do so, yeah ~5 weeks is a good point on flipping, i wanted my super lemon haze to get to decent size so i kept my c99 two weeks longer, so man im strugling with lack of space.. 2 weeks seems to be such a small time, well i gues not in veg :) i wonder how ur auto will turn out, keep it updated :)

so just made myself a new grow cupboard not complete yet but still able to do one plant at a time for now, just popped my cheese seed into water to germ tonight so hopefully see some sign of life soon lol,
im using a 300w dual spectrum cfl which is larger than what i used on previous grows but im hoping this will make an improvement on yield, i will also be adding additional smaller cfl side lights over the next few weeks, im planning on using BioBizz and have ordered Bio grow, Bio bloom & Bio Top Max, never tried them before but heard good things so thought id give it a try

anyways i'll keep u all updated as and when the seed shows some rootView attachment 2582757View attachment 2582755

She looks lovely Garybhoy, going to be real bushy, that's what I use, 2 x 300w CFL and A100 Vipar LED...it really kicks arse, fairly cheap, about £150- great investment trust me. What I did find though, with soft Scottish water about 20ppm there is no calcium so this must be adder for sure.

If you want 4 main colas top above the 2nd node making sure it is alternating, turns her into a monster!

ive done a few grows now and never had a problem with the good old scottish water or calcium, i have never even tested the PH in any grow ive done as i dont own a ph tester, just add the nutes to tap water and feed away lol, and ive never experienced any problem worth noting so far,

also i think i topped above the 2nd node as its looking like im gonna have 4 colas which is exactly what i wanted, happy days !!

very nice man, my next grow I will try topping as well. Auto is also looking very healthy all green. gz

By the way when you top to get 4 colas, would it be the same principle if I would top at 3rd node to get 6 colas?

cause for my 20L pot I would prefer something wider and smaller like 8-10 smaller main colas, but I read in Uncle Ben's topping guide and he was mentioning:
Yeah, but you'll get small colas and not necessarily dominant ones, just bushy as hell. Your typical main cola on the typical plant is the dominant branch or leader, just as a dominant leader (trunk) on a pecan or oak tree would be. Top (pinch out the top of that leader) and you have just redistributed the ho moans to points (dormant foliar buds) below the cut, which makes for multiple leaders.
so I guess 4 colas + a bit of lst plus few extra side branches will be my way.

I am really wondering how the plant will look with this technique, cause I am very much vertical space limited but from what I see in your pic, it's beautiful. by the time I will be training my next grow you will harvest yours, so I will have something to compare to if you'll keep on posting pics ;)

thumbs up!

@ simisimis if ur really stuck for height u'd b better to try a scrog much better control of height, better distribution of light across ur canopy

some pics from today, cheese is getting quite big now measuring in at 21 inches, and the BLT is starting to look nicer each day as well now.

Keep us updated on how they turn out. I've been thinking about adding an auto to the mix. I'm curious as to how much different the Cheese auto is from the regular. I read somewhere you could snap the top to control height as well. Which keeps the plant from getting taller, but makes the cola thicker. I have one that is just from bag seed. I'm assuming it's more of a Sativa than the others. Because it got twice as tall as the others in the same time. Anyway, I had the same strain outdoors last year. Being height limited in my space, I tried the snapping the top. Not breaking it off, just bending it over 'til the stem creases. It;s under CFL's, and the cola on it is at least double the weight of what I had last year outside. This is on a plant that is right at half the size. Last years was about 5 ft. This one is only about 2 1/2. That article also said some strains work better topping, and some work better bending. Anyone have experience trying both ways, or are there some negative things about doing this ?

The cheese auto is still looking good i trimmed off a lot of the lower bud sites that wouldnt get much light to allow her to focus on the top buds, i noticed quite a difference after only 24 hrs,

the BLT is also looking nicer, the 4 main tops are getting stronger each day and i have been pinching the stems to strengthen them
