woodzholla, I would take the daylights out like you said and use the mostly the warm whites. But it's probably also a good idea to leave at least one of the daylights going with them. Right now I just started flowering after about 8 weeks of vegging and I'm using 4 warm whites and 2 daylights.

Hey Roseman I have a quick question for you. I was just wondering at what height you personally start the flowering process? And around how many tops would you say you had from that massive 7oz plant?

I don;'t go by HEIGHT to start 12/12. I go by the closest satWHEN DO I START 12/12 FLOWERING CYCLE?

The longer the VEG cycle, the more the yield.
Consider this, in nature, outdoors, we plant a seed in mid to late April. It grows through April, May, June, July, and in mid to late July, as the sun's rays change, the plant naturally changes from VEG to FLOWER, with the diminishing sun's rays. That is nature's way. The plant grows and matures to an adult plant for about 3 to 4 months. THEN, it makes flowers. That is nature's way.
Indoors, in HYDRO with feeder tubes, we cut that time in half, by using 24/7 LIGHT. instead of 3 months, or 13 weeks, it takes about 6 weeks to become a mature plant in HYDRO, with 24/7 LIGHT.

OK, also in nature, we see most animals and humans reproduce at maturity or adulthood. If a human, (or dog or any animal) is forced to make babies before maturity, like getting a 12 yr old girl pregnant, then the babies are weak, or runts, or deformed, and just not at their best.
A dude here, a most experienced, knowledgable grower named fdd2blk (and a MOD here too) taught me a long time ago, that it does not make sense, it is not wise, it is not logical, to make a child have a child, and it is not wise or smart or logical to make an immature baby plant, have babies. LET THE BABIES GROW AND LET THE ADULTS MAKE BABIES.

If you will VEG for 5 weeks, to 6 weeks, you will have more time for proper TOPPING, PRUNING, AND FIMMING, and you'll get bigger plants, and you will also have a mature adult plant, ready to make healthy, stronger babies (flowers) .

If you begin Indica Flowering, after VEGGING 3 or 4 weeks, you will harvest about 60% to 75% of what you would have harvested, IF you had waited and VEGGED for 5 or 6 full weeks.

This info applies to rapid growing in Hydro, and to Indica strains. NOT slowly in SOIL, and NOT Sativa.

I average 3 to 4 ounces per plant, VEGGING 5 to 6 weeks, and I have gotten 7 ounces from one plant, the one you see at my signature. I got that with planned, proper Topping and Pruning and Fimming, and creating more tops or cola sites.

If you need info with pics on Topping, Pruning, or Fimming, let me know.
urday to 6 weeks.

I had 13 Major or main tops, or colas.

Thanks man I was just curious to see because I just started the flowering process on my blue venom after 8 nice weeks of vegging and at a height of 27 inches tall. I counted all the main tops on her and honest to god I counted around 20!!:weed: So I'm really excited to see how much the yield is. I did also find some bad news on my last check on my girls; The G13 Diesel plant I have growing with the Blue venom is a male:cuss: But I'm planning on taking a few clones from both plants and crossing the clones to get some seeds and create a new strain that I'm going to call G13 Venom;-) But I'll keep you updated on how it turns out and if I have any more questions throughout the flowering process I'll make sure I ask you. I'll also post some more pictures soon when some buds start to form.

mhg26 is absolutely right.

When I am in the VEG cycle, I use more cool whites, and when I am in the BLOOM cycle, I use more warm whites.

You could possibly get 6 to 8 ounces of dried manicured buds. I hope we get to see how much you do get.

Hello roseman, your a very helpful person and after reading all these pages I haven't found the answer to my question so here it goes. I had bought a 65watt cfl and had bought a clamp lamp Heat lamp(120v can handle 300watt incandescent) and the thing didn't turn on! I was very confused, it also blew all the circuits in my bedroom and I had to go to the breaker box and switch the power back on. My bedroom can handle 15 amps. I really want to buy that 150 watt cfl as it will give me A LOT more growth because I'm only working with 6 27 watt cfl's at the moment. I don't want to buy it and not have it turn on. Do you think my 65 watt didn't turn on cause the clamp lamp was pulling to many amps?? I'm going to try the regular 8 dollar ones that can hold up to 150 watts. Do you suggest I still buy it and try? Do I probably need something else that I'm missing to make it turn on? Please help I really need this bulb for my medicine. Thankyou roseman

I see many people on this site buy a Clamp Reflector at Lowes or Home Depot, and the CFL bulb won't work in it.

I've seen this question or problem many times, and it is because of the bulb and reflector being made in different countries and the socket is not a tight fit. Really. And almost everyone has to use tin foil in the socket to make a tighter fit for the bulb to work.

Take the Clamp Reflector back, and exchange it or buy a different one somewhere else or line it with tin foil which is dangerous but everyone does it.

Well the tinfoil thing didn't work. Maybe I put to much but when input a 19 watt bulb into the clamp lamp and plugged it in I heard a pop lol and that was the end of the reflector. Light still works but I'm out a reflector so now I got To go get a y splitter and an extension cord tomorrow to take it's place. Just posting this to make sure no one else tries it.:peace:

exactly why putting tin foil is not safe and roseman said go get one that would fit but youll be better of with a y splitter any way

Hey guys just updating some info. The two male clones I took are starting to flower and show their little ball sacs all over the place. The female clone isn't doing that well though:( I'm not sure why but she's wilting a lot and she has plenty of water?? Hope she makes it so I can cross pollinate her with the male clones and get some good seeds. My main girl is doing great! No pictures right now, I need to take some good ones with my new camera tomorrow. She's 9 days into flowering and I can see little tiny buds starting to form on every top. I started her in the 12/12 cycle at 27 inches tall and now she's 37 inches tall!! She's also drinking about a gallon of water a day!
