CFLs and Molasses

From everything I've seen its really imposible to compare HID lighting and CFL lighting. That being said the heat and cost are the biggest reasons I run cfl's for vegging. My CFl lights are both 200w actual wattage, and still produce next to no heat. Even to replace those with some simple 250w MH lights for veg, would cost me lights, ballasts, cool tubes, and fans for it all(plus the added electricity). I have tried to flower with these CFL set ups I use, I replaced the bulbs with the 2k ones or maybe 2.5k not sure now. They flowered the plants ok, but there was zero comparison to the HId harvests I've had. Cfls are also a great inexpensive way to get started and learn how to grow.

I'm really happy with the way my veg turned out, a 2x2 footprint for 98w of mixed 2700k and 5000k, and had no heat issues at all, like you said.
