Hahaha...i jack off on my own thread all the time....oooh you said 'jack your thread'....ummmm it no problem... :-P

Serious stuff now! Good. About to transplant a few of my clones out before the 14 day deadline i have set my self.

6 of my clones were planted out into my outdoor spot yesterday:

^^^^^a bit of an abortion...but yeah fun and free! :)

So gastanker used whites at higher wattages and i know brother bumping is working on the coloured.

Since the matrix of LED's are so close, i imagine the mixing of the spectrum can happen at quite a close distance to the plant...

But i stuck with 50w chips as i have fuck all height.

^^^ This. You should get an even more homogenous spread when comparing to, say, 3w chips. Think of it like the Dicon chips that Kessil uses. The different colors are pretty much 100% mixed by the time they leave the reflector. Since there's no secondary optics on these chips I see mainly 140-160 degree viewing angles. You should probably expect a 10"-24" panel height while under 100W. And yea, I'll be running a 100W remote phosphor spotlight once my Chiesel grows up and all the parts roll in so definitely stop by my thread if it interests you.

bwaha! he said off..

I have had an idea a while back for an angled panel that cups around the canopy (three sided trapezoid), ideally a foot away from the canopy..

These 50w's are looking pretty ideal and revamping my motivation to learn how to get down and dirty..

You're almost describing my flower room... :fire:

There's one more of those supplemental panels for the back wall after I pull it from the mother tent. I just have to decide if I'm running a topped, FIM'ed, or LST'ed single plant... or "SOG" consisting of 2 plants. I'm probably stuck with having to veg a plant for a few weeks despite how much I really just wanna go straight into flower.

Yea! Then pop a few of those 10-12w Strips in the four corners... or in my case the walls.

..be building myself a BOG shortly after that..

Time to get back to those DIY threads

EDIT: what size tent is that?

2'x2'x4.5'

Either it's getting smaller or this tomato plant is getting bigger. :-( And the funny part is I haven't smoked in almost 2 years! I don't think there's any possible way I could consume the amount I want to grow. >< Seriously one hit and I'll be out for the count.

That's all good, im about the same sq. ft, different shape- Just enough to keep myself efficient, always wanna overdo it "wpsf" wise.

"Past that all you need to do is JB Weld the heatsink core to an extruded Aluminum heat sink of the right size (larger than the heatsink core) and solder the driver output and input wires accordingly. This is easier than a kit, imho, since you're not soldering hundreds of connections and nothing that you do have to solder is heat sensitive."

For somebody as naive, and stoned as I, the first thing that hits me is: Whats a core? Just the base to mount you heatsink to and "connect" your array to it?

Ack. It's really butchered terminology. Sorry for that.

She calls this piece a "heatsink core" so I've kept with that phrasing (misspellings and all) in an attempt to NOT confuse anyone. That's all it is, just that piece of Aluminum with imbedded PCB for soldering all the chips to. As far as I can tell it's the same thing that the Astir panels are using, but this one's a 6x6 whereas theirs is a ?4x5?. Merry sells various sizes so buy as needed.

Ok...so everything is on track.

Now any suggestions for training methods (if any) for my cups? Mainline perhaps?

It has been 14 days since my new bubbler setup/amendments....13/15 have roots. The other 2 have bumps...That is more then satisfactory. :)

No i am not 'flippin' the other clones off... :-P

Thought i would run through my ingredients for my soil as i transplant my clones to soil. Since i have been doing about 3 party cups a time, i roughly make up about 1.8-2 Litres of soil.

_MG_3626.jpg

- 10 grams of Gypsum
- 10 grams of blood and bone
- 1 cup of fresh work castings
- 10 grams of Kelp meal
- 5 grams of ROK SOLID
- 5 grams of Epsom Salts
- The rest is made up of Organic potting mix

Can anyone see anything missing in there? Or add to this? Ratios are a little rough...but i'm still dialing in. :)

Decided to plant all 15 of these. 8 will be going into the PC case. 2 have already been established from last cloning mish. In the PC case, they will be 18/6 for a week and then into 12/12. Just to see what happens....BONUS TERRITORY! :)

_MG_3622.jpg_MG_3629.jpg

The other 9 (7 x Pineapple Express and 2 x Acid) will be kept in the 'Veg enclosure' for at least 2 weeks....will check them then...and decide if they will be my 1st to flower in the 'Flower Enclosure'.

Another 4 will be planted outside again this week.

Hey Chron.,

Do you ever have an issue with fugus gnats in your worm bin? We periodically do, and do nothing to control it. They seem to run there course in a week or so, then dissapear.

This makes me nervous to use the castings in the cultivation though, would hate to screw things up.

To be honest..i dont know what one lookz like?

Never had any problem with pests in my grows (famous last words) I have a few flying ant type things in my grow room now that dont affect the plants at all.

My worm bin has numerous crawlies and life in it (as i guess everyones does) None of them seem to affect my girls. Roots are always healthy. Leaves are good.

Thanks. :)

Nah dont really get into that kind of thing. Just if it works or doesnt. :)

The floodlights i use are cheap (I paid $45 for 43 true watts) and reliable. (Havent had one go on me in 3 grows now)

pretty good thread lots of good info, yes i read it that fast.

@ PF quartz in serious to control THD between driver and diode is a brilliant idea.

Yip...hahaha...they are stuffed in there. I guess thats the beauty of LED's and the wide angle that these floodlights project (120-140 degrees) They dont need alot of head room. (or none! :) )

I am 'anti-LED panel' or 'ALP' :-P

Thanks for your words. :)
