just before I go to bed..Why are people so unwilling to believe a quite normal natural occurence on the basis that they havent heard of it? Apparently people believed the world was flat you know!!

ill tell ya what rather then attack ya ill give you a chance to prove it.
all you have to do is show us and we will all be happier.

are you claiming you have done this and grown bud?

Ill watch but am skeptical myself. I have cloned for years and even had to test the clone from a leaf thereory. I can get a leaf to root quite well and the fan leaf will grow larger but no new growth ever came from the 3 or 4 times a tried. The leaf got to certain sizes then seem to die off after a few weeks. but Im intersted to see a single leaf with no nodes start new growth from a non growth point so Ill watch with the rest but if a week goes by and no pictures show up Imma chime back in.Imma doubter but willing to be shown

if you are not all in i am allready worried LOL

O.K. take a look. What did I do wrong?

Sure looks odd

5.5 in net pot bottoms, bio bizz coco, house and garden coco nutes 1/4 strength plus roots ecelurator, time tested heating pad, rootech hormone, 100 watt MH , misted with very light folitech and penatrator mix.

Made cuts at various locations, wasn't sure where along the vein to cut.

:peace:

you know i have been reading this thread and i have to say Thank you!
you went and did it haahah

finally someone quits fucking around and either proves this or disproves it!

no, it isnt busted.

even given the method he described (which is shaky at best) it is 'possibly' possible.

in a week? hell no. that part is definitely busted.

that tidbit, along with the titles of his supposed degrees ("advanced botanical studies"? its botany or plant biology, that is the most made up degree i've ever heard)

anyways, this guy seems like a real tool. I'm not going to mention where I've studied, but I did recently achieve my bachelors in plant biology, and have been doing plant transformations and tissue culture for the past two years.

many cells in a plant are totipotent, meaning that under THE RIGHT CONDITIONS they are technically capable of reproducing an entire new plant, including embryonic tissue (an important distinction he didnt mention)

this guy sounds like a fucking retard to be honest, giving a bad name to actual botanists who might want to come share the shit we've filled our heads with over the past 4 (ok fine, four and a half) years.

anyways...i'm thinking of ways to do this myself. I wish i'd grabbed some hormones from the school lab before leaving, I just looked up 'trans zeatin riboside', and the shit is like 600 bucks/gram. Just laying the leaves down on wet soil is...more than a longshot, if you're not supplementing with the right hormones at the right time you really dont have much chance of pulling this off.

I was reading and reading, finally I decided to go to end of thread.WOW, lol. I was really hoping to see the the method detailed and some pics by this time.I have successfully rooted leaves several times and had same results as others, leaf survived for quite a while but no new plant growth. It has even happened accidentally in the clone trays when a leaf has ended up on media. After 1st time I tried ensuring the leaf was laying on soil as I propagate my begonias that way. They just rotted. It's been a fun read anyway.Just thought I'd throw my personal experience two cents worth in.

Hmmm I think I know what you want to know now - I dont keep any dedicated mother plants, I just clone off clones continually and after rooting them they all go stright into flower. I have however just started a new grow from seed which I am quite excited about, the new Marijuana seed .NL strain THC Bomb a massive yielding 20%THC Indica dominant beauty. I have 5 just gone into flower a few days back and they are producing purple and yellow pistils!!

I call a rack. this is th most retarded thing I have ever heard. lyer lyer lyer. The fact is with out an internode on the clone it will never continue to veg. I have a N.L. deisel, blueberry, indica, sativa, kush, hindu, thai, chocolate, thc bomb crossed with a rabbit. that's right a rabbit.

it grows really really fast and is the most potent weed in the world.

breeds like a rabbit too and will fully ripen in three days, yeilding over 50 lbs per plant.

more potent than yours more potent than anyone

what a douch bag. give it up and go kill yourself.

GrowTech

stays relevant.
Heh..."Im not sure this has been done correctly" doesn't inspire much confidence, but based on the fact that there is no proof that it DOES work, I think you're right... myth busted.

How can you talk to another person like that, and then call THEM a douche bag? LOL. :?:

If smoking on weekends and one or two nights a week after work makes me a pot head...so be it.
If using grandiose enigmatic elocution befuddles your diminutive vernacular adroitness, then maybe you are a pot head and need to put down the bong and do some reading.

I've been doing a little research and there might some truth to what that dude was saying.

  • Leaf cuttings. Removing a leaf from the original plant and planting the stem of it in soil can eventually produce a new plant. This occurs with common plants such as African violets, snake plants, gloxinia, and several species of begonias.

  • Certain plant leaves, when cut from their stems and placed flat on top of the soil, develop roots at particular intervals along the cut veins of the leaf. Eventually, the parent leaf looks as if it has sprouted several baby plants, all growing vertically from the leaf at various points along the veins. Plants that reproduce in this manner include begonia and geranium.

But then you read this
Talking about Cannabis Clones:

In principle, every part of a hemp plant is suitable to use as a cutting. But a single leaf with a few roots is of no use of course. In any case, a good cutting has a growth-point. The size of the cutting doesn't matter so much; a 2 cm cutting can grow to be a top-quality plant, just like a 10 cm
cutting.

Like they say- "don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see"

All plant cells 'can' be redifferentiated.. Feasible success is the question.. Might be a good idea to apply some tissue culture cloning principles since it can take a huge amount of time with certain older cells..
