Hoping that someone coumd help me out. I am a longtime HPS grower but i woukdike to make the jump to LED and i am leani g toward QB but I am still trying to get up to speed on LED so I confess that I am a LED newb.

Would someone be able to tell me what the difference is between the following 2 kits on the HLG Site;
250W XL LED BOARD KIT (I believe it is longer hence the XL)
260W QB LED KIT

I can see the obvious 10w difference but didn't know if I am missing something else. I would like to pick up 2 kits for a 3x3 or my 4x4 tent.

Thanks for any assistance.
Same driver just named slightly different. You'll have better spread with XL kit.

Thanks for the reply.

I have been really looking into all of the LED companies and tbh I really like lights that you guys offer and the results speak for themselves. The thing that truly sold me was that you guys are on here, helping people out, providing support and reccomendations.

That type of business I can get behind and support. I don't mind spending a bit more rather than DIY. Kudos to you guys.

You guys should build your own boards it saves 50% of cost of boards and you feel good too. Check out some GrowGreen 100w LM561C boards cost less more diodes more efficient
This is a thread on DIY Samsung strips not quantum boards go sell quantum boards elsewhere no selling here allowed build your own not buy quantum boards. Stop trolling with your quantum boards having sales issues need more advertising. Not interested in quantum boards thank you
hypocrite, how about you keep it to your own thread?

ok dudes, I read this entire thread just now. So Im going to post SOMETHING, lol.. Im intrigued by the LEDs of this type, but also in straight K, like 3000k 4000k 5000k spectrum. I have a Mars300 I changed the diodes in to 4000k and its kicking ass.

Im looking into LED linear High Bay lights, 110 watts, 15,000 lumens, 4000k, dimmable.
putting 2 in a 2x2. ( How the heck is Lumens not spell checked approved here is beyond me) Oh, because they mean nothing , lol??

Are these more in the lines of the Samsung lights? they are basically QBs, No? The photon Flux density should be somewhat comparable Id Imagine? But they are 80CRI.

These are under 125watt 4000k Mars300 modded with lens, at 24 days from seed, and Im going to pull the trigger on 2 of these HighBay lights.

hey guys thinking about getting some quantum board. Someone said you need lens to use them in flower is this true? if so where do you buy said lens

Can someone help me out with mixing COBs and QBs? I have a 3x3 tent. I'm building a COB fixture and I'm wondering if adding a QB has any benefits?

Your idea simply increases your parts count without adding anything of substance to your lighting.

You do know that the Platinums are nothing more than re-branded E-shine Chinese lights right? The bullshit on their page about custom spectrum is horseshit. Of all people, Mars Hydro took them to task in a video on youtube.

So the choice is, 22-25% efficient P300's or 50% efficient QBs that put out 2 1/2 times as much light.

I keep hearing how platinum led is outdated and not as efficient as these QBs. I keep searching and trying to gather enough info to justify myself switching from 5 p300s to 3 QBs. Be nice to stare at clear vs blurple but I need more of a reason to switch than that haha

Thanks I have actually decided I am going to upgrade to 3 260w 3k kits for flowering. The p300s are still growing good medicine but like you said 22-25 vs 50 with more light is a no brainer. Thanks!

How does on control heat out of say a 1400 setup. My friend wants to do a 10 by 6 setup. I get with vented hoods you can just suck it out. I ran into this problem with my cob setup. If we have to run a ac kinda not that efficient.

if you ran 3 vented hoods in there, the hoods themselves would radiate as much heat as the QBs put out, so you still have to deal with heat. And unless your lucky enough to vent the exhaust outdoors, you still will need air conditioning. Then you have the power consumption overhead of HPS's lack of efficiency. Nope, going that route will cost you more
