Co2 Supplements

I've heard that you can spray seltzer water on your plants to supply them with Co2.

Does anyone have experience with this?

never heard that, but heres a cheap easy way i use.....take a gallon milk jug put a pencil hole int the lid, fill it half way with water, 5 cups sugar, and a couple teaspoons of yeast....shake that mofo a little, let it sit for a day, shake it as often as you can and youll get lots of co2....replace in a couple weeks.

how smelly is that???

if you buy this sytem called co2boost you will get approx 75-90 days of co2 for only 100 bucks

then after all the co2 is used, you can use the remains of the product as high quality fertilizer, WIN WIN

i use co2boost, it works very well, it works so well i only use it 3-4 days a week or my plants will stop growing due to co2 overload

yes it is possible to have too much co2 in you growing area cause plant growth to temporarily halt

it stinks if it comes out of the bottle, kinda smells like badly made wine, other than that my plants completely overpower any smell in my room so all i smell is skunk!

well are you using the co2 during veg or flowering?

when did you start using the co2? i heard seedlings don't need it, only when you have lavish foilage

about two weeks ago so.........about 3 weeks in. im gonna use it the rest of the time.

It doesn't do you any good to use it in veg stage, all that does is increase leaf and stem growth. You use it after 1-2 weeks into flowering so that it increases the size of the Flowers. You want 1500 PPM level of co2 for optimal growth. A large 50 pound CO2 bottle ends up costing $20 for each grow. You just lease the bottle and get it refilled every 4-6 months or when empty. I can get 2-3 grows out of each bottle.

I Highly doubt the seltzer bottle technique will bring the CO2 levels up to 1500 PPM for 12 hours a day.

i seen the co2 boost in action at the local hydro shop, works great and every stop i made the growth was amazing(house plants) but they wanted 150 for that plastic co2 jug....i figured it was worth going all out for a real tank and reg...it ran me $285 for the whole set...i just think thats the best investment...i know most shops sell the set for up to $500, but HTG has the best prices around. also lemme give a shout out to nodrama..when he posts i check it out, always a good read

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Once the plant is in full flower mode ( 2 weeks usually, my latest ones took 10 days) then use of nutrients/light/photosynthesis etc is now being used to grow the flowers and not the stems and leaves. CO2 will increase the plants ability to use resources as it increases its ability to Photosynthesize because it is a key component of the process, along with light. That's why you don't use CO2 during the dark hours, it cant use it because it cant photosynthesize since there is no light.

what about molasses, will a slight amount, say 1 tsp / gal work well, well enough to be using it?

what can you use to maximize crystals, i heard phosphorous

dudes gotta p.h.d in t.h.c :lol:

im using the bottle with yeast and sugar mix...so your tellin me to take it out during lights off?? it wont hurt to be in there as long as i dont shake it right??

have it hooked up to a timer and an air pump, have one end of the tube hooked inside the yeast buckets and the other inputted (lol) into your grow area

thats how i use the co2 boost
