hi guys it my first time with coco some of the lower leafs have started to go yellow and some have rusty brown spots on them other leafs with just brown tips.

They were transplanted into 3 litre pots my water EC was .32 before i added nutrients to 1.06 ec & ph the water to 5.9 that was on the 27th

Im thinking of flushing them with some Ph 5.8 water

Coco is a cal mag sucker, thats why a lot of people are pre charging the coco coir because you get deficiencies like that. Looks like a Cal/Mag issue which is real common in coco. 5ML of Cal/Mag per gallon of water.

I was tempted to say the same but I noticed he said his tap water starts at .31 EC so shouldn't he already have calcium and magnesium in his water? Or is coco REALLY that Cal/mag thirsty?

Hey anyone ever run a non coco-specific nutrient with coco? Owner of the hydro store near me says that coco neading special nutes is just a myth and that any hydro nutes will work. I don't really believe him

you dont need coco specific nutes. people have even adapted the lucas formula to work with coco, heads 6/9 mix. i also hear and see that gh floranova is pretty kick ass for a one part for coco. after im done with this jug of CNS i'll be switching my coco feed to GH FN just to see how it performs. but i really do need to get into these NutriPlus nutes i got from the last show. freaking have two boxes and a whole mess of other nutes collecting dust in the garage, lol.

hmmmmm wouldn't be a bad idea, but in the first few days of the seedlings life will she need any calcium or magnesium? your going to have to look into that first, i seen boys use it as early as 3 leave set just to be on safe side

Hello. I would like to start off by saying I am very new to coco. I recently started Using It in my flood trays. I Flood 2 times daily. I keep my ppms to around 900. ph is ussualy 5.8 ( I have to adjust 2 times daily). I am using Ionic nutrients with diamond nectar and magical. Here goes my questions. My ph is constantly rising to 6.2-6.5 Is that an issue or can I leave it there and stop readjusting everyday? Also Im geting nutrient lockout quite frequently I feel like this has to do with the ph issues. Is there any thing I can do to stop my ph from raising so much? also Is flooding 2 times daily to much or to little. most of my problems are occuring in my veg tray once they hit flowering they take off and I seem to have no more issues. I am just kinda exhausted with this coco its starting to feel like more of a chore and im not seeing good growth like I always have with rockwool and hydroton. Is there anyway to improve growth rates? At this time I have no money to buy any different fertilizers or additives so I have to try to make due. Thank you to anyone that helps I really appreciate.

This is my first time using Canna coco I have used the cheap stuff in a brick before. When I left the grow store one of the dudes told me to try not and veg longer than 4 weeks with canna. Maybe a Canna expert can chime in. Thats why I ask about precharging canna coco. I always precharged my cheap coco chips with 10 Ml per gal of Liquid Karma and 5 Ml per gal of Cal mag I never got deficiencies this way and I like to veg 6-8 weeks.

Thank you very much no one not even the only grow store that sells canna in my state could answer my question.

Hmm I'm using the blocks of compressed coco. So maybe Ill start charging mine with some ionic grow and some magical. It might work at this stage anythings worth a shot. I was also wondering if the diamond nectar was doing anything or is it just a waste of time on my part?

Do it!!!! I always precharged my coco bricks with Liquid Karma and Cal/Mag they take off and you wont ever have to deal with cal mag deficiencies let them marinate for 24 hours drain and dry and you wont regret it. I'm just on the fence about Canna coco coir because its like 25 bucks a bag and they say "its watered cured "

canna is good out of the bag. i have never precharged it, but i do notice that i need to add lots of calmag during the bloom. my peak nute formula is 2.0 EC/1400ppm, using 5ml CNS Grow, 5ml CNS Bloom, 5ml Hydroplex, 10ml Calmag, 1/4tsp Epsom. measurements are per gallon. I was seeing rust spots until I added the 1/4 tsp epsom. i guess its dependent on how much mag your plant eats up

oh i was also using 5ml Silica blast. i do want try Dynagro's silica since it has more silica and some K in it, could be a nice bloom boost. The K is really week on the botanicare product, i may continue only using it in veg since it has low K

My growshop has stopped selling Canna Cogr slabs and want me to start using Canna Coco slabs instead. I have two short questions regarding this:

1) The Coco slabs are not nearly as big (on the height) as the cogr slabs. Since there ought to be less space for the roots, is it really possible to get as good results with Coco as Cogr slabs?

2) My Cogr slabs managed to keep the PH on a good level without me having to think about it at all. Is the Coco slabs just as good in that aspect?
