i just planted my seeds in coco, how much nutes must i add to the water, about 1/4 of recommended is okay?
my nutes NPK is 13/4.5/6.5
thats my first grow ever, i really don't wnat to kill them

If your starting off in coco make sure your using a very fine mix, because the thicker stuff will dry up to fast

...and the very fine stuff is exactly the opposite and can retain too much moisture if you water too often and don't water with plenty of run-off. I always mix some perlite with the fine shit.
If it's a simulated soil grow the fine stuff should be good with a bit of perlite.
If your hydro, stick with the course stuff because you want to be able to water often.

Discliamer: This is merely my opinion based on my experiences. :peace:

hey cats whats up i am in the process of switchin to co co but dont know exactly what neutes to run and shit. so the qusetions i have is what kinda of nutes to run and how much and often to water and feed them. i have perlite in the coco too.
it's best to use coco specific nutes, but not absolutely necessary. i've used pbp, amended once a week with epsom salt and did just fine. i don't use canna anymore, since they started watering their stuff down. i still use their pk 13/14 though. since coco is basically hydro, you can feed every day. in veg, i feed 2x a day. in flower i'll sometimes feed up to 3x a day, depending on the strain. i never go much past 800-900 ppm. you just don't need the same high ppm's like in soil. i never recirculate, always run to waste, which will give you optimal growth. remember to get 10-15% run-off with every feed.

Alright this is how it's working out...

Lucci and pookie

All of my seeds popped open..
The strains are Northern lights x big bud.. And VBS x Karen somewhere in there is some old TRC genetics..

I have all the girls I chopped down under a shop light on for 24 hours...
It will take about two weeks for them to reveg..

I still have train wreck, cheese, chocolate trip, amnesia haze, a little catpiss plant, a little bubba kush that never really took off.. it's just one little bud..so I will reveg that also to try keep the strain..
Right now all thats left is being flushed.. I am flushing with just ph water, 4-20 is my chop date..I am using alaska fish shit on the reveg.. it's a organic nute thats a 5-1-1.. I've used it for long time and it's never burned so I like it and it's cheap..

So my ideas on my breeding..
I will for sure be breeding NL x BB with amneisa haze...
I didn't like amnesia haze at first, but they turned out to be very dense and a very stupid and dazed high.. complete day dreaming.. and I will also be crossing NL x bb with chocolate trip, train wreck, cheese, green crack...

But most excited about the chocolate trip and amnesia, Because if amnesia size and and potency is crossed with another bud that is a large indica domn strain..Outcome could be endless..

I wish I had a male of cheese to cross with my train wreck...(cheesewreck) That would be the strain that would get caught alone because of the smell... they both smell like rotten shit..

I also had a old school lady give me about a 100 seeds from Arizona that came out of a old local outdoor strain. (no idea of the strain) So I will be calling them (A to Z). Probably very sativa but I will have to pop them to see what I get..

I found a fish hole in the middle of nowhere off the Brazo's so I think since thats my fishing spot from now on I will grow a least 10 out there.. But I am so worried about moving and having to ditch them after all that work??

We will just have to wait and see what turns out...

so here is the pictures

Amnesia haze # 2 around day 70 to 80 Very sativa, but taste very strong with a slight sour.. But packs a long lasting punch...

I'd have to say this strain is about 9 out of 10

Now this is a train wreck stem that has been flowered 3 times and now is going to become a full time mother...

Whats left...

over due choclate trip... going through a flush recently started turning light purple due to lower temps..

Way over due train wreck

Sour mist (kali mist x SD) I think but not sure... Im sure someone could help me with that... I had bad luck with this strain.. It probably should have never been topped and I am sure she would have been a lot more happier outside...

And I like these pic's just because they are purple..I know it's stupid but who cares..
But they do smell like grape? and the strain is cheese..

But I know now that cheese has a tendicy to go purple... along with CT

Thanks guys lets hope this next run will be successful breeding..
i made A comment the other day.. And I really would be a lot more happier as a breeder then a just a grower..
I want some thing I can put my name on.. That I can say is MINE..
Then to look on here in a couple of years and find a newbie across the world growing my future John wayne strain...

Most likely I think the Duke strain will be a cross of Northern lights x bigbud which has been back crossed..
then with my strongest male I will use with my Amnesia Haze pheno 2 Which is the first pic on that posting..

so it will be (BB x NL) x (AH#2) = The Duke...

It will be the for sure some dank!!!
Then I am also using a male from VBS x Tx Karen also for my cheese and TDUB..

VBS stands for Very special Berry.. Old TRC genetics...

hello fellow rollers just found this thread on coco but was actually looking for the best northern lights breeder.anyway been growing in coco for a long time and wouldnt grow in anything else.subscribed to this for sure.

p.s. cant wait to see that john wayne strain if those other pics are any thing to go by.

hi people i need to ask this,

is coco really that good, does it improve your yield at all, i mean coco where i live is 12 pounds for a 50 litre bag, where as i can get a bag or some nice compost for like 3 pounds a bag is it worth the investment?

COCO RULEZ!!! It's all I use. I've been growing these massive Bubblelicious in ONE gallon pots. 100% coco, no perlite or anything else. I use AN Monkey Juice, Big Bud, and Ionic Boost.

I'm surprised I don't see many other coco growers using sundews to help with the fungus gnats. Am I the only one? Sundews are carnivorous plants, related to venus flytraps. They have sticky tentacle like branches that trap the gnats. Another good trick is to put slices of potato on top of your coco. The gnats prefer to lay eggs in potato rather than coco so if you throw the potato slice out in two days it should get rid of the eggs and larvae.
