yeah its pretty simple and easy to maintain i have arthritis so the less work the better for me lol
strains aint that easy to come by in oz man a friend has some slh hes last batch went moldy and i made some honey oil for him it was fucking sensational lol
i got a g13 labs fem pineapple express seed and a paradise seeds fem ice cream to pop but i need to make room and build a small mother area as i want to keep the ice kush and i only got room for 2 plants and 2 babys at moment
figured if i got the mother home built i could keep 4 strains and grow 2 strains at a time
might even just buy one of those .5mtr tall tents should be ok for a couple bonsia mothers lol
I highly recommend the usage of tents , im using 2 secret jardin tents (1x1x2) for flower and a recently added bud box tent which is only a meter high, perfect for vegging and DWC antics. lookin after the next generation as it were. The secret jardin ones are easy to set up and the zips are durable. DO IT!! hehe not sure how easily you can acquire them in Oz tho
Is it possible to grow outside where you are in Oz? The weather is good (mostly) but i imagine the police restrict most peoples outdoor growing dreams... unless you live in the outback..

yeah choppers are a bitch in the suburbs we get fly overs nearly evey night where i am and sometimes during the day
this year where i am hasnt been the best outdoor season its been to overcast and raining alot but atleast im not in the middle of the floods or cyclone
parts of oz mainly the top end you could grow outdoors all year round they have more daylight than us down sth
i like my hydro set up its easy and keeps me in supply so im happy lol although i would luv to grow a monster outdoors at least once lol
ive seen the jardin tents here but they expensive and not many stockists but yeah they just look so easy to set up n maintain and thats what im all about lol

no problem at all for taking time to respond. sounds like your plants should finish nice and healthy. i dont think you will be able to return the big fan leaves to perfect health so just make sure all new growth if fresh and dark green. if you dont need added epsom salts then dont add them. for the lucas formula its low in the Mg area or something and the salts help get it to the ideal level. i only use a gram per gallon im not sure how much a tsp is but it may be too much. sounds good on the DWC cloner!
After a recalculation of our nutrient ratios , it is almost certain that we have been overfeeding. So the plan is to continue to flush at 10% nutes and hope for the best. Does anyone know if there will be visible difference after flush or do you just flush once and then stick to a schedule ie 10/20/30/40 % building up at each feed.

Good day wolverine, going to hold out on the epsolm salts for now but i def think its part of the problem , most likely calcium but i live in a hard water area so surely that will give them a bit a Ca , maybe not enough? Bit worried about spraying anything on the girls now as they are well into flower and dont want any chance of mould bud rot etc i could give it a go on the lower fan leaves tho, il wait and see what happens over the next few days
Cheers for the input lads , happy growing !

We get the bastards flying around here aswell , bloody noise pollution if you ask me. At least the police budget is getting cut soon apparently , then hopefully they wont have enough cash to fill the choppers with fuel ! Or they will only be able to use them in necessary situations ie real crime..
Im all good tho , properly insulated, got the extraction coming out of the chimney so hopefully it'll be good enough for now.
Only now have we started to get into clones and preserving certain strains, in the past its just been your standard buy a seed , plant it, smoke it. but obvs that is not economically viable, these are hard times , cant be wasting cash on over priced seeds from the dam. well i say that but il always buy the odd one or two tasty strains from attitude.com
really need to get some UK cheese cuttings but people are just so dam jewish in the uk or paranoid either one hehe
you had much of the ole cheese odlaw?

a lot of diff strains get around but most the time ya dont know what strain it is but northen lights is the most common i have come across and skunk but i dont know what strain/s
which other than med reasons is the other reason i started growing my own
get away from the bullshit and the swag and just get some quality bud sit back and lol every time i think of some1 going through the bullshit of trying to buy some nice bud for the right price lol

i hear ya bout the cuttings man i hated doin the seed thing it adds an extra month of work lol plus my cuttings look as though they gunna mature about 2 weeks earlier than there seed mum so thats another bonus lol

Hi vdubb808 yeah there is a few of us aussies using coco
nutrifield is an aus company but i personally havent used it
i use the cyco range which is also australian
you should check out this thread https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/250691-aussie-growers-thread.html if you havent all ready
good thread to meet other aussies and get info on where and what is sold in aus
Thanks Bro, I'll check out the Aussie Growers thread to see what the word is on Nutrifield's Nutes. I'm using their Coco Coir and it's perfect, even the compressed coco coir. I was skeptical to get the Nutrifield compressed coco, but that was the only pre-buffered stuff around here (Hawaii) and the guys at the hydro store said it's the same stuff as their premium loose coco coir. So either way, Nutrifield's Coco Coir, loose or compressed is ready to go and pre-buffered.

Hey everyone great post. I've read a fair bit, this really needs it's own forum tho.
I'm starting with coco tonight and just wondering what pots everyone uses? I'm going to have 2 pots that drain Into my rezz. Will normally garden pots work ok? I'm In aus btw

if using a recycling system with coco u will need to put something in the base of ya pot that still allows drainage but stops the coir getting into ya res or ya gunna end up with blockages
you will need 2 pots per plant a normal pot on top that fits into the base one that only has a hole for ya drainage tube
as for size thats totally up to you

Hey folks just got a brick of coco hydrated but on rinsing... I have had coco issues before and someone reccomended I flush the coco thoroughly for a couple of days before mixing it with my perlite and toss using it for the transplant but I just realized I hydrated it in the shower with straight shower water, so have I just increased the salt content therefore meaning I will have to rinse it more? and has anyone else had this salt issue?

u need to get the coco buffered to the right ph so u have to keep flushing it with the correct ph and a small amount of nutes like 200ppm until the medium is at the right buffer
mauch easier to spend a couple bucks on a bag of pre buffered coco like cana

I have a question regarding PH in coco coir. I have just started using canna coco in airpots and tap water with a ph of 7.0. The runoff from the airpots is coming out at 6.0 and within 4 hours is returning to ph 7.0. This is straight tap water. it goes in at 7.0 and the immediate runoff is 6.0, 4 hours later the same runoff solution is ph7.0:lol:

Also I have just started using a 1/4 strength solution canna A+B with some Rhizotonic for some seedlings. I used GH powdered PH down to get the nute solution to ph 6.0 and 4 hours later I tested the remains of the jug and the ph had returned to 7.0  I am using drops to measure ph.

Does this mean that the coco is holding a nice stable ph for my plants ? will this effect continue throughout the grow? Do I need a ph pen or is coco no worries?

Thanks. Scroggsy.

I use Smart Pots with my Ebb & Flow set-up. It works great and the plants are loving it.
