Collodial silver questions

I am thinking of using collodial silver to make my own seeds, but I have a few questions. People say that you use collodial silver to make plants go hermi, but if you spray the plants then you can't smoke the bud? If I were to use store bought collodial silver like.....
http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Path-Silver-Wings-Supplement/dp/B000BSZBHS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361742607&sr=8-1&keywords=colloidal+silver

This is meant for human consumption so why wouldn't it be safe to smoke buds afterwards?:blsmoke:

Also how much concentration (ppm) is needed for the plants and how many treatments?

Will collodial silver work for autoflowers?

smoking and consuming things are two totally differenty deals~ smoking weed isn't even good for your lungs, although it may help other things.
try doing an early harvest and leaving bottom growth, and then treating it with the silver.

LOL do NOT smoke the plant. throw it out when its done. metals are mutagens and carcinogens.

you need 30+ ppm of silver for an extended amount of time. if youre serious about it, do some reading. you need to find two stable females, which are hard to come by nowadays becuase the majority of strains have already been feminized.

if i were you, i would grab an already feminzed plant and overflower it, and then cross it with a stable female, or just harvest the seeds from the overflowered plant.

no need to sterilize more genepools.

Just spray a single bud. I marked one with tape then was careful to only spray only that one. I got more than enough pollen and was able to smoke the other buds. I treated a short rider which is an autoflower so yes, it works for autoflowers. You can even harvest all of the other buds and leave only the hermied bud on to collect more pollen. Here is a pic of my hermied bud.

Since it was an autoflower I didn't have to worry about light cycle so I let it chill in my living room by a window. It made a good amount of seeds and I stored some pollen in my freezer.

Let me try and get what you said straight, you spray a single bud with colloidal silver and only that one. Did you then use the pollen to pollinate the plant, or did you use it to pollinate another plant? If the latter is the case, then okay I understand. If not, how did you do only make that one bud seed?

I used the pollen from the single bud I sprayed with colloidal silver to self-pollinate the plant and to pollinate another short rider plant (The other plant was pollinated so that I have a larger gene pool to play with). The hermied bud will make seeds, and you can collect the pollen on a brush to use for pollinating other buds.

If you isolate the hermie you can choose to only pollinate single buds on plants (turn the fan off!) so that you do not seed the rest of your crop. I mark these pollinated buds with tape. It takes 2 to 3 weeks for viable seeds to form.

It doesn't make sense to hermie an entire plant and ruin it for smoking purposes when you only need to hermie a single bud to get plenty of pollen.

Exactly what I was thinking! And I was curious if there was an easier way around it, because I really wanted to get seeds from my autos so I won't have to be dishing out an arm and a leg. How many seeds did you get off the plant you self-pollinated?

You can expect to get 20 to 30 seeds from a nice sized bud. I kept about 60 of the best looking ones and threw out the rest.

If you spray a bud with colloidal silver everyday, you will see it start to grow male flowers in about two weeks. It takes at least another two weeks for these male flowers to start to open, and you can then start to collect the pollen. After pollinating another bud it takes three weeks for mature seeds to form. So plan on taking a minimum of 7 weeks to have seeds if you do not have frozen pollen or an already hermied plant on hand, sometimes it will take longer if the plant doesn't hermie quickly.

It is pretty easy to make colloidal silver. All you need is two pieces of silver (99.9% pure) jeweler's wire, a nine volt ac adapter from the local thrift store, and a glass jar filled with distilled water. strip the ends of the wire on the ac adapter, wrap around two pieces of wire, submerge in water (make sure the copper is not submerged and that the silver wires do not touch), then plug in and cover so that it is completely dark (silver reacts with light). Allow to run for 12 hours then unplug, pour the solution in a clean spray bottle, and store in a dark closet.

I got around 50 seeds from two buds, but I only kept ~30 of the most promising from the self-pollinated plant. The longer you let it go, the more seeds you will get. You just have to keep on pollinating it. These plants can produce seeds for a long time.

Wow you got info from first hand knowledge don't see that often. Took me two days of sifting through talking heads to get Mids info. Nicely put mid

I might try this on a small popcorn bud cuz im only wanting like 5 seeds. dont know if this hermification is worth it.

Dude I wouldn't have a problem w/you deciding breathing wasn't worth it. What info inspired your post? The guy all but came to your house and did it for you. What effort did you feel was worth it?

You are not turning the plant into a "hermie."
You are tricking the female plant into producing male flowers.
Every female cannabis plant has that ability.

The amount of colloidal silver I use to completely turn three plants, or about 15+ branches could easily be consumed by anyone in one sitting with no ill effects. You want to spray it early, two weeks before flower time, or when autos are two weeks old (? check my thread)

You want 50 ppm or more. You can dilute higher ppm colloidal silver with distilled water.

I usually spray an entire plant and get way too much pollen.
You can spray one branch and that will produce a shit ton of pollen.
If you are spraying one branch, just shield the others with cardboard or something. You are spraying early, mostly before buds form.

quick advice - put the plant that will be sprayed into 12/12 about two weeks before the the plants you want pollinated. That way, pollen production is in full swing when the buds are ready to accept it.

I made thousands of feminized auto and regular seeds. I have had over a 99% germination rate. 100% have been females. I have nopt heard of one "hermie."

You can pm me if you want if I miss something in this thread.
