Okay dudes don't laugh I custom build a computer case for veging plants in while I build my dual rooms for veging and flowering mature plants. Also my first grow. Anyhow don't have pics cause I'm away from home till Wednesday so bare with me and have some imaginations. I have a problem that is plaguing me with dry dirt syndrome. I have two computer power suppy fans rigged up in sequence, running on a 5v cell phone charger one placed down lower for inlet and one fix up high in the case for exhuast. Problem I'm having is with out the fans plugged in it seems like temps are getting pretty warm with the case locked shut and the 100 watt cfl in there. However when I plug In the air exchange system to the wall outlet I will notice that after a few hours small planters that seedlings are in dry out ( almost bone dry) and so out of fear I moisten the dirt back up and un plug them. What should I do right now mygrow medium is miracle grow cactus and other succulents formula ( please hold criticism) I just wanted to give growning a shot so I went gehtto and on the cheap. With some success now and a grearter interest I will move ahead thisFriday by switch plants to cocnut coir and molasses water for fert mmaybe throw i n foxfarm grow big. I also have 2 400 warr hid and ballast just have to construct new bigger growning facility my next week off. I will post pic like I said when get home meanwhile any help on the " dry dirt issue" would be greatly appreciated.

Haha yep probably was a good idea. Hey thanks hesh I don't know why I didn't think of that... they do that on hudro set ups I've seen before. I could get mylar and plac it over the bucket. But right now the pants are so small I have them planted in the little egg carton shell. Oh another question.how many times a day is good or to much water I just have been make sure the soil stays semi damp, wondering if that's propper watering procedure or if I need to be doing something else?

Thanks guys :)

If it's soil you usually wanna wait until it dries to water, it's not a time based activity. You want to water when it needs it. A good practice is to stick your finger in a few inches down. If it feels wet it doesn't need water. I've been makin good progress on my first grow, and I'm gaining a better ability to read, or listen to the plants. When the leaves start too droop down they are in need of water. I use a combination of looking at my soil and looking at the leaves to determine when is good to water.
