Stuff like 7 kids blown to bits due to a targeting error.
That sort of morality that any citizen could be decapitated for in Afghanistan or Pakistan for example.
You see we have to dehumanize the "enemy" so we call then things like "Gooks" or "Terrorists" and so we can morally deal with blowing children into specks of flesh and bone on the wall.
In the USA if we hit a child we face prison but in Afghanistan if we blow up 7 children we apologize.
I think this is what your thread is about.. If not I'll drop it an move on.

That is exactly what i'm talking about. We blow up 100 people in Libya so I can call Dominoes, I get it but it's not ok and for all the evil 'we' do to keep our standard of living 'we' are getting less and less of an elevated standard of living. And I think I would rather share my pizza if your not a dick instead of killing you so I can have the whole thing. The threads about the costs of all this and the risk/reward as well as the morality, if you know every missile we launch is costing $$$ and every time you go to work your taxed and everyting you buy something your taxed and that money is used at home and abroad to kill people are you wrong for contributing? will we be viewed like the Nazis were? If you were in Germany you were the Enemy, and were shown no mercy, if you were living their you knew what was going on so were the enemy, did you ever see what we did to Dresden? Our country is into some bad stuff that we might have to pay the price for.

Well I think we all struggle with that inner good and evil thing. NPR had something today on that which was really good.
In the end it's about realizing that nothing is permanent thus impermanence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impermanence
I found coming to understand that all things are made from the same energy/information as all other things connected me to all else.
Later when learning about Quantum physics I read that things are entangled http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_entanglement and since at the moment of the Big Bang all matter and energy were one we are all still entangles thus we are not separate objects at all. We are all one thing and space is an illusion. Meaning the distance between objects. <== Not my made up idea. It's science.
If you are interested the subject of karma is a fascinating one. You might read on that and for some the idea of moral behaviour in Christian lore and most all other religions have some system of belief like Karma.
But on the personal level I do believe Americans if caught in some areas of the world would be tried and punished no mater who they are because of the acts of our Country.
I'm not sure what more I can contribute.
