Hi guys,
Here is a couple pics of the northern lights autos i have going.
Quick question. I forgot to keep a track of time so im hoping to get
a quick guess as to when they may be ready. these are the best pics i think
i can get with my camera.

anyway, loving this thread.

Peace :)
I always go by the trichome color rather than the seed banks time frame. They normally give the time frame for w grow in perfect controlled conditions.

Lookin great man. You have a couple weeks left. I would stop feeding in the next couple days and start the flush. Nice and frosty!
Thanks for the input SkidSteer.
I will hopefully have a magnifying glass for the next grow.
im pretty happy considering first grow and outdoors.
im looking forward to the smoke, although i not expecting to get much off them.
would be good if i could smoke a sample of this with you guys and girls. haha

Peace ;)

Yeah man that would be great! Im always down to smoke! Haha. You did awesome for your first grow. Make sure you dry properly or you will turn that beautiful smoke into some terrible tasting junk! Made that mistake my first grow and was mad as f*** lol you have any ideas for your drying process yet?

no ideas for drying method yet. have been thinking of drying in my spare room hanging in the closet. nice and dark and relatively dry in there.
and then curing the buds for a month or so in glass jars.
any pointers?

Sounds like you have done your research. Make sure you have air blowing below the buds and not directly on. Other than that just make sure your humidity stays down. Keep us updated!

What would be the result if i cut those girls down, say in 7 days time, a little early i know. but might not have any choice

You will be fine to chop then. You will get more of a cerebral energetic type buzz. It is all a matter of personal preference. If you let go longer you will end up with more weight and a couch lock high. Dont let anyone tell you it is to early. It all depends on the type of buzz you prefer.

My canon pay is sitting about 19.5 inches from my 1000w bulb. Should I get it closer?
Yes I would try to get it as close as possible. Use the back of your hand to test the heat level at the top of the canopy. If its warm on your hand your plants are gonna be warm. Just leave an inch or two extra for overnight stretch. Should be able to get 12 inches if not closer

Awesome grow! How tall are your plants?
How's the smell so far? Is it really a lower smelling strain as they claim?

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to chop them down today so they are drying now. far too early i believe but i hope the smoke will still be good.
they ended up being and half meter tall at the most, so quite small.
oh and the smell. well for me, i couldnt really smell them, but being around weed alot can cause us to be immune to the smell cause my
girlfriend reckons they stank to high heaven and back :) but the smell is a really musky earthy smell. absolutely delightful

Any tips to get these buds any bigger? Or will they swell before harvest? Looks like a really small yield for me if they don't swell up :S

They do pack the weight on towards the end. I think your yield was hurt not having that hps from the start. And if you can get your hands on the fox farm dirty dozen before your next grow I would highly recommend it for maximum yield. Any sign of amber triches yet?

So last night, the fan bracket broke and the fan fell on one of the plants, chopped it up, it was the one that was tagging way behind. Tons of problems, however. The 2 good ones had no damage, currently drying the buds to see what comes from it.

Maybe that was the best thing for it!

Hey I see that you're usingsmart pots. I was thinking about acquiring a few, they're great right? About size, is 5 gal ideal for an auto such as candy cane? By the way, your candy cane crop looked delicious!
