Curing for only 1 week?

Is it alright if I cure for just a week? a month seems wayyyyyy too long, I don't understand how people cure that long, just nonsense imo. I can't taste weed anyways, it just tastes like smoke to me so I couldn't give any less of a shit about the taste, I'm not selling or sharing it, it's my own stash so if it's not "perfect" I wont give a fuck, will it still at least smell dank after a week of curing and fill the room with the beautiful stench of marijuana?

Why are you gonna do months of work to screw it up by not waiting one more, I smoke a bit of mine before it’s fully cured but it’s usually just test buds
Well what am I supposed to smoke while it's curing? I don't feel like I'm screwing up anything as long as it smells good and I'm getting high, 2 weeks is pushing it for me but I could probably do it. Is it okay if I smoke it while it's curing? Seeing as every time I open the jar it would be me unintentionally burping it.

i start smoking mine as soon as its dry. in my experience its a lot better after it sits in a jar for about 48 hours. but after that the effects of curing are pretty subtle.

if you grew enough youll still have some left in a month thats been curing and you'll see the difference for yourself.
Aight man, thanks for the info!

Your lungs .... the REASON to grow is to get best cured product.
Curing continues to drawing off of that grassy chlorophyll shit , long cures bring really good flavors and smoothness.

Go score a zip at the local dispensary or dude on the corner in a hoodie ...... to tie you over.

Or do what I do if ( I’m waiting for bottles to at least hit the 3-4 week cure mark. )
I bury my jars after final stabile Rh is achieved and let the dark , cool earth do it’s thing.
I just grab some carts for my pen ..... problem solved or a distillate syringe and reload.

For what it's worth, I recently did an experiment and collected samples at various points in time during the cure, and put them in the freezer in vacuum sealed sous vide bags.
Samples were all taken from the same plant and were curing in jars a very strict environment of 70 degrees at exactly 62% humidity.

It started off with a typical 5 day hang dry. After that, buds were trimmed and jarred.
Samples were removed from the jars, placed into sous vide plastic bags and vacuum sealed and immediately placed into my garage freezer inside of a cardboard box.
I took samples at the following intervals once in the jars:

- 2 Weeks
- 4 Weeks
- 6 Weeks
- 8 Weeks
- 12 Weeks
- 16 Weeks
- 24 Weeks

I then passed out samples to all of my friends and it was pretty unanimous. Here were the results:

There was no noticeable difference between the 2 week and 4 week samples. Visually, the samples looked great still. The taste was good, but not complex.

There was a noticeable difference with the 6 week samples. Visually, the samples still looked very fresh and had not begun to darken. The taste was noticeably different, however. More complex. More refined. It was also a bit stronger.

There was not much of a difference between the 6 week and 8 week samples. One person reported an additional bump in the taste complexity but I screwed up and he knew what he was sampling so I don't count his review.

The 12 week sample was noticeably different from the 8 week. It no longer had that nice visual freshness. It was considerably darker and, while still looking great, it did not look as nice as the others. The taste was only marginally different but the inhale was noticeably smoother.

The 16 and 24 week samples continued to show declines in appearance and smell. These no longer had the bag appeal and the nose just wasn't there any more. No real improvements in taste.

My conclusions:
A 6 to 8 week cure is optimum without sacrificing appearance.

My 2 cents :)

It's fucking weed. Why would anyone smoke the shit to get high? It's WEED. Taste is the main purpose. If you wanna puke after doing drugs switch to meth or something worth the nasty taste.

People smoking weed for the thc.. Blows my mind just get on some pills or something.

So you froze bud, which isn't curing at all, and let your idiot friends blind judge it by looks.. Nice.

An 8 MONTH cure is optimum. If that sounds insane, trying growing some real weed for once. Not that lame wannabe growstore chemicals Lost Angeles tourist bullshit.

It's perfectly ok to not cure since you don't care about taste or quality. And apparently you don't care about the quality of the high as well so go ahead and just start smoking as soon as it's dry. You don't have to ask permission to do something stupid, it's your god given right.

Every strain I have ever grown was different though. Some strains are best with a one month cure and some become amazing after 3. But I do appreciate the work you did into discovering what works best with that strain.

I do care about the quality, I’m not gonna smoke some shwag bullshit, I care about how potent it is and whether it smells pungent, I can’t taste weed anyways, any weed I’ve ever tried from dispensary to ditch weed I can’t taste, it just tastes like weed, so I know it’s definitely not the weed.

I mean bad weed will taste like bad weed but good weed will only really just taste like weed smoke to me, neither good nor bad.

And I wasn’t asking for permission, I was just asking if it would be okay to do it in general.

I don’t even know what that means to be honest, is it ok in general. Simple answer is no, it’s a stupid thing to do which will give you inferior weed. But you just said you have no taste in weed. So buy the box wine at Walmart and be happy
