Those that cry about autos ... can’t grow them. They are plug and play ... plant , grow , harvest.
6 week harvest of ANY plant is lame. Autos need 4 -5 weeks to setup rootball , so by sowing seed straight in to final containers from start is a no brainer ... no need to solo grow or transplant.

You can AVERAGE about 40-150ish per plant , depending on strain.
300 grams + is also possible for some strains. Amnesia crossed with anything other than lowryder / dwarfs shit will produce well. The RUDI gene sometimes is nothing more than the TRIGGER.

You get different phenos even from same batch. Some grow fast and thick , some spindly , some mutate , Some “ need help “ to flower , some just dud out or stay small. But finding the best breeder for gear is a learning thing. There is some big dank in little autos. They will finish when they finish .... disregard the breeder estimates on harvest time .... you will harvest ( average ) BEFORE 90 DAYS.
But some Sativa dominate cuts are going a bit longer sometimes.

Don’t sell yourself short by harvesting based on the label , you got to let them ripen proper.

The potency , the smoke , the terpy goodness is ALL THERE in autos.

Shoot for 24/0 - 20/4 - 18/6 ..... 12/12 for autos are a waste.

Light aerated mixes , coco , hempy , even water farms are killer for high performing plants.

Why so much hate on these ? .... if you can’t grow a seed that preflowers on its own , there is something wrong .... lol.

Those are some pretty plants! Soda can sized main cola. I'm with you, I use; mephisto genetics, dinafem, seedsman branded seeds, royal queen seeds being my most favorable, and lastly had some good luck with Barney's farm seeds. I have been considering getting some fast buds seeds but don't know much about them? Have you had good luck with them? Ive been hearing good things about dash seeds as well but they are more of a super auto kind of breeder. Yes all seeds vary average time from seed to harvest is about 10-12 weeks.

Just saying man, 60 days is about as shirt as it gets and 70-80 is more normal. This was 82. That Taco guy I've never even seen since today and I've posted here in autos since March when i started getiing into them. He didn't really offer anything being 100% here. He must've got mad cause he thought i was picking on him for not getting high yields but that wasn't even the case. Anyways, you can get some solid yeilds on 70-80 days if you pick good autos.4+ easy per plant. Just gotta read before buying. I researched alot before making my Breeder choice(Mephisto Genetics) and believe they along with Dinafem are the top choice for autos. Not at all far behind would be Fast Buds, Sweet Seeds and Dutch Passion. There are other autos yes but deep looking will show these are the ones with real promise and progress in autos. Also just to note, the strings had to help hold buds up. You can zoom and see. Thise were a few days before chop.

You have a really nice setup there. Your plants look healthy and loaded with Crystal. Heres my alien versus triangle. She still has a see a little while to go as you can see the pistils are mostly ehiye still.

That's for the grower to decide
Let's review the OP:

I know how they work, based on time rather than a photoperiod, and I am aware they will complete their entire cycle within 12 weeks, some quite faster, down to as quick as 6 weeks.

What I do not know is how does the yield compare with normal period-based plants?
I commented on EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED TO KNOW.

Other people are throwing in bullshit answers about long term grows that have nothing at all to do with the type of grow the OP was talking about.

That's why this forum is so much a shitstorm: Idiots beating their chest about how good they are at something that has NOTHING AT ALL TO DO with what the thread is actually about.

You don't have to continue ranting on for a few more posts, pretty sure your first one or two covered his question. ? Anytime you set out with the goal of being right, you're circumventing the whole reason you're here in the first place...to provide knowledge and insight, and recieve knowledge and insight. People will never accept your point of view when you come across as a self righteous right fighter.

So you just dont kniw hiw to count than. This clears alot up. 10 weeks is 70 days. 12 weeks is 84 days. You got mad cause you can't grow autos and statred being nasty when the plants i talked to OP were done in 70-84 days. You made up some fantasy about im talking difderent autos and whatever. You are the one that is nit actually helping the OP.

That sort of defeats the entire purpose of autos though, doesn't it?

Autos were engineered to be fast grows. In growing fast, you get less. It's that simple. Autos were engineered with the small, apartment grower in mind: they don't get overly large, it takes the guess work out of light scheduling and it is done in far less time than the standard plant. You get in, get your shit, and get out.

If you want big yields, then auto's are a waste of time because you obviously are not concerned with speed and you have plenty of space to work with without fear of "being discovered". So in that instance, why would you even bother with autos? It's a moot point in that scenario.

That's all there is to it.
Your wrong sorry, Auto's were designed to be used in places were the sun shines 24 hours

I have grown indoor photoperiods smaller ( on purpose) and outdoor photoperiod monsters bigger.

IHMO the answer to the question originally asked about autos can't be answered easily.
It all depends on a frickin slew of variables, generally photoperiods, have the potential for higher yield. Yet for me autos grown outdoors add a critical dimension of control, as a grower at my cool higher latitude location. ( mold season come in early fall, so it is nice to start flowering when I want!) I don't give a crap about Max yield, I grow for myself with a 15 plant at a time medical license. I don't want moldy immature buds in fall though.

(See outdoor auto thread for picks on size with 5 gallon pots and about $2 worth of nutrients. Ya at my lattitude, I got around 17 hours of light at summer solstice.)

It's really not that complicated

Hi guys I've been looking a mephisto autos and they are the best by far I've ever seen from other people's grows. Abit pricey so I might colloidal silver a couple just dont know which strain to pick. I want big yields = more money. Ohyea would yous think topping it once be worth while.
Welcome all opinions
Cheers

Taco is full of shit.. OP did not ask about only 6 week plants.. he said 6 to 12.. Autoflowers produce fine yields, just look at some growdiaries. I have not seen one finish in 6 weeks, 9 weeks seems to be earliest. Some examples just looking at grow diaries...
Mephisto - hubbabubbascope - 2.6gallon pot -250w led - 12weeks = 2.6oz dry weight
Mephisto - Skywalker OG - 4gallon pot - 110w led - 9weeks - 4.5oz dry weight
Mephisto - alienVtriangle - 5gallon pot - 1000w led - 11weeks - 5.8oz dry weight
Mephisto - Fantasmo express - 5gallon pot - 480w led - 10weeks - 4.4oz dry weight
Taco is just being an ass saying autos produce low yeilds at 6weeks and ignoring the rest of what the op asked.
( I don't know if I'm allowed to post links to other website growdiaries so I just posted the deets)

Here's an outdoor auto no.BFD. Nope not .12 foot monster, yielding.pounds...

Your yield on an autoflower is about half what you would get from a photoperid plant, but it's a trade off, you are trading speed for yield, while some autoflower plants do give a nice yield it's still a trade off, one more thing when you run autos outdoors you tend to get less yield than growing indoors, allso you mentioned 100 degree temps, your autos are not going to like that 1 bit, if you are going to grow autoflowers outdoors do your strain research, find a strain that can handle 100 degree temps, a stain that thrives in your environment, or you will run into trouble, most but not all autoflowers are ment to run indoors, find an outdoor auto that can handle extreme heat.
